About Me

Daughter of a classically trained vocalist mother and a nationally renowned instrument repair technician and woodwind player, Sarah hails from the Philadelphia suburb of Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Growing up, she was surrounded by music, picking up the clarinet and learning 32 songs in two days completely by ear at the ripe age of 8. At 9 she began playing the violin (although, never was very good) and at 10 felt the call to learn to play the guitar. In and out of lessons for six years, Sarah went on to join the Paul Green School of Rock music at age 15, and was immediately asked to be a member of the All-Stars after her first performance. During her years in the All-Stars, she had the incredible opportunity of playing such festivals as Lollapalooza, the Zappanale festival in Bad Doberan Germany, and countless other shows across the country, including the Fender 60th Anniversary festival in Tempe, AZ where the Fender brass were so impressed, they gave her an American Deluxe Telecaster. In addition, she has played alongside legends such as John Wetton of King Crimson and Asia, Mike Keneally, Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, The Players (Brent Mason, Eddie Bayers, Paul Franklin, Michael Rhodes, and John Hobbs), and Jon Anderson from Yes. Sarah also accompanies with her close friend, extremely talented, Garageband.com award winning, NY Songwriter’s Circle host Liz Longley (www.myspace.com/sarahzimm) on guitar and vocals, where the two team up to produce stunning vocal harmonies (and killer blues tunes!) all over the East Coast. Sarah has recently made the move to Nashville, TN where she is a student at Belmont University and is beginning her own musical endeavors. While she is exploring various different genres of writing and playing her music, she knows one thing is for sure: “As long as I have my guitar, I’m up for anything.”Sarah is currently working with producer Tor Hyams and is working on a project in the very near future!
