Kelly Lee is a twenty-two year old Country/Rock singer and songwriter from Hatfield in the the UK.When you ask Kelly how long she's been singing, she always replies with " Since I was a little girl listening over and over to my favourite Patsy Cline tape and singing along". Kelly has loved country music for as long as she can remember, listening to her parents tapes of Patsy, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Charlie Pride, and later on The Judds and Reba McEntire.Kelly started her musical journey when she was fifteen, doing guest spots in various country music clubs and pubs with a band called Struck It Rich, and opening for another young singer, Niki Dean, at the famed Borderline Club in London.In June 2000, Kelly went on holiday to Nashville with her parents, and sang with Jo Dee Mesinna in her autograph signing booth at Fan Fair. She also entered a talent competition and came third out of fifty people, and she sang at the famous Legends Corner in Downtown Nashville. Kelly also did a set in Debbie Denton's Connexion Cabaret show at various holiday parks and clubs across the UK.In May 2003, Kelly was one of thirty-six people chosen to sing in a talent contest at the Knebworth Air Balloon Festival. She won her first heat and came in second by just two points in the final. From that Kelly got asked to appear at The Rhythm's Of The World Festival in July and she was also asked to sing at The Barn Theatre. After this Kelly continued to do more guest spots and showcases at the country music clubs and festivals across the country, getting fantastic feedback wherever she appeared.As well as singing Kelly wrote a monthly page on British country acts called Kelly's Eye, in the magazine Country Music International, which included reviewing albums and writing features on British and International acts.In June 2005 Kelly recorded a fourteen track country covers album, with Steve Rowland producing. While she was recording, Mike Maslen who is the owner of London based Indie label Halo Records, came to see her. He loved what he heard and since then has been working with Kelly with hopes of signing her.Earlier this year, Kelly recorded two songs with well known British producer Stephen Loveday. One of the songs she wrote herself called You Can't Run and another called Cassanova Heaven written by A.Muckley.
Kelly now has a fantastic band who are four of the former members of International Southern Rock band, Medicine Hat. They are currently in the studio with Stephen Loveday, writing and recording material for there debut album.Kelly is managed by Alan Whitehead and Erika Lee.
