About Me

If you're looking for something official, check out www.sarabeck.net. If you're of a mind to ramble, read on!I'm from Chicago, North Carolina, and Maryland. Nashville is my home, and my roots are in Texas Hill Country and the plains of the midwest. My entire family makes music and likes to have animals nearby. I have three dogs, and the little one weighs in at about 55lbs. Every one of them is a certified mutt.I adore songs, line by line, rhyme by rhyme, note by note. I like playing with words and textures and melody in the same way I like coming up with dinner when there's no food in the refrigerator. I am chasing the perfect song, but she's wily and slips away even as I catch her reflection on the body of my Martin J-65. I particularly adore a good country song. How can it be so simple and so profound? Do so much with so little? I am after the perfect song.I've had some incredible moments performing that have hooked me forever. I love being onstage, and I used to worry that it meant I had a hopelessly large ego. I don't think so anymore. I just like to be onstage. My music has been called dark by the light camp, light by the dark camp, country by the indie rockers, alternative by the Nashville music rowers, edgy by the straight-laced, and wholesome by a few on the outskirts....there's a little of it in all of those descriptions. There's a little of me in all those descriptions.I'm thankful for this big ol' thing called cyberspace that lets me put my music out there in the world for you to hear. Say hello sometime.
