1999...independently submersed in the music scene in Nashville, before words were ever exchanged, Sam and Ruby knew someday they would record
a project together. Ruby spent her time hopping ponds with her Top 5 charted pop album, Smoke and Honey (Polydor UK), while Sam was holding
down the fort (or rather, making it get up and shake) in Nashville and NYC, with his sexy funky groovy-music-making self. However, these
musical soulmates could not deny their destiny, and 7 years later the project has begun. One may initially wonder, "How can a boy from Green
Bay, Wisconsin and a girl born in Ghana, West Africa find kindred spirits within each other?". Once you hear it, you don't wonder anymore... Add to that, their voices, when recorded, are often
mistaken for each other's.
Destined for a higher purpose, Sam and Ruby continue to give to people what has been given to them... life, love, and loss, understanding,
forgiveness and hope....music.

BJ's Review from the B. Sharp Showcase, NYC....
Sam & Ruby
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, I mean I was pretty blown away by the tiny set I had seen them do in Nashville. But, somehow I was not prepared for the absolute perfection that is Sam & Ruby. Individually these two are stunning, both in appearance and talent, together they are a force of nature that draws you into a world all their own. A beautifully intimate, emotionally charged world of flawless harmony.
The crowd, which had been raucous after Granian's mishap, became respectfully silent and utterly mesmerized by Sam & Ruby's candor and chemistry.

From the very first song, "More", a melancholy piece that is so heartfelt you can feel the pain it was written with, the audience was putty in their very capable hands. Every song breath taking which is a pretty impressive feat from a male/female duo - a format which is sadly lacking in current play lists, but if anyone could get this genre on heavy rotation...it would be Sam & Ruby.
At the end of the evening I went around talking to people and did a bit of an informal poll - the clear favorites FAR AND AWAY for the night were Sam & Ruby. Somebody get these guys a deal too! Oh, heck get ALL OF THEM A DEAL!
SAM & RUBY.
