About Me


Ultra talented and multi versatile Daniel Tashian began his musical career at age 3 when he began to play the guitar. Since then he has written, produced, and played on numerous records and film scores. This Nashville based singer songwriter possesses a unique and beautiful combination of songwriting and performance talents. "The sweet-voiced roots-popper", Noel Murray, Nashville Scene, sites influences ranging from REM, Emmylou Harris to Graham Parsons. Daniel is the son of Holly and Barry Tashian, leader of Barry and The Remains. Having grown up in a family full of music and impromptu parties and jams, Daniel's talent was recognized early. While still in his teens Daniel was signed to Elektra Records. Tashian worked with Grammy winning producer T-Bone Burnett on his Elektra release Sweetie, an album crafted with the sensitivity and wisdom of someone twice his age.
Tashian steeps himself in the creative community, collaborating with many other artists and songwriters. Often looked to for collaborating with by many artists for their own projects, Daniel has written with Mindy Smith (Vanguard), Gabe Dixon (Reprise), Josh Rouse (Nettwerk), David Mead (Tallulah), Franky Perez, Emerson Hart (EMI), Jessica Maros, Sara Beck, Amy Corriea and Melissa Mathes.
Additionally he founded the Nashville Ukulele Club whose members include Brad Jones, Angelo, Gary Tallent, Henry Gross, Lex Price, Dave Jakes, and Barry Tashian.
