I am a songwriter, and I have been a songwriter for as long as I can remember. In fact, I have a very clear memory of being about 6 years old and sitting in a piano lesson looking at a new piece of music. At the bottom of the page there was a note written in small print that said the composer was 12 years old at the time he wrote the piece. I remember thinking, 'I can't wait until I'm 12 so I can write a song, too'! I figured out pretty quickly that I didn't have to wait that long to start writing, and I began creating pieces for piano.
Naturally, having grown up in the music industry, I went to college and rebelled by studying Economics, (it turns out those two subjects are a lot more closely related than I thought!), but I couldn't stay away from the music. During college I helped form a new vocal group on my campus called Just Eve, managed the Wittenberg Choir tours, and interned at numerous major record labels and management companies in Nashville and Manhattan. After graduation I traveled the world by backpack and then moved to Nashville to pursue a career in songwriting.
I write all genres of music, and I get to work with incredibly talented people on a daily basis. I have been lucky enough to collaborate with many talented writers and artists, including all those listed in my top friends (check them out...they're amazing!) and many more.
