Put simply, if they're playing at a venue near you,
don't miss 'em!" BBC website. We'd like to say that folk songs are in safe hands, but these four candid young women have put a stop to that! Following the success of their first album "Out of Bed" on Fellside Records (FECD180) and appearances at major UK festivals including Glastonbury, Sidmouth and Womad, The Witches of Elswick have now released their second album "Hell's Belles".A cappella harmony with attitude, each 'Witch' has a strong, melodious voice and together they bring fire, imagination and fun to a variety of traditional and contemporary songs. Their passion for the songs and general zest for life is made all too apparent in their raucous and enchanting live performances. They hail from all over England, which is demonstrated by their broad choice of songs, into which they have breathed new life, skilfully bringing them into the 21st century.
At a Witches gig you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll wet your pants, but you won't be bored. (And you can always buy yourself a nice new pair of Witches Knickers from the lovely well-stocked merchandise stall). Careful mind, they're even naughtier off stage than on....!
