Starting out in 1965 with The Blackbirds, Lassen wrote the radio-hit “Hey, hey, What a Wonderfull World”(1973) while Karl was performing in various heavy rock bands.
In 1975-1982 they joined forces forming the core of Danish guitar rockers, OZON, whose concerts/ live act gained a strong following in Denmark and Norway.
Failing to transform their live energy into the records released (Smag & Behag, 1977, Mr Rock’n’Roller (1982) and a couple of singles) they left the band to pursue civil careers – Lassen as an architect and Karl as a teacher in music and audio technology besides running a recording studio, Blue Apple Lyd-design.
Lassen, after working several years as an architect in Bermuda, took up songwriting again after returning to Denmark and Karl released solo albums “In Search of Atlantis” and “Seasons of Scandinavia” featuring instrumental music.
Once bitten by the sound of a Fender and a Vox AC30, and it’s a neverending love to the energy released on stage when playing together.
Have experienced the self-perputuating synergism on stage, you will be looking for it the rest of your life – the live-kick.
We had been on stage together thousands of times while rock’n roll was young in the 70’. We had experienced the floating, supported by the enthuastic crowd hundreds of times, and we learned the Scandinavian geography through the windows of the touring bus. We had been through that, and we wanted to do it again.
Pocobell is working with the Rome based bassplayer Martin Arnoldi. Martin has 1999 to 2005 worked in London as a member of the rockband Livingston. Besides he worked as a session musician in recording and various touring bands as well – check out his website, he's cool!!
