It's hard to believe that one trip to Nashville in 1994 would jump start a deep and satisfying love of the craft of songwriting. It has taken me on a journey to many places including NSAI song camps, songwriting cruises with some of the biggest names in Nashville, to meeting publishers, getting single song contracts, to having 7 songs cut on Barbara Harley's debut CD First Glance, placing in song competitions, to now doing my own CD.
With no formal training besides two years of piano and guitar each, I embarked on a mission to learn as much as I could through NSAI's workshops. Upon doing this, I met my co-writers Barbara Harley and Al Lind, who I still work with to this very day. They have become my best friends and mentors. I also met Anne Freeman of Aspire2music, who is a very good friend, as well as indie publisher, moving and shaking our music all over this country.
I was honored to have had a single song contract in August of 2001 with SDB Music group's Sherrill Blackman (one of Nashville's top pluggers) with my song "Life Can't Be Returned". I am also happy to have published 5 songs currently with Next Number One Music in Nashville. The magic just keeps happening and my determination to keep on trying until I make this my full-time career is proof of my love of songwriting.
It took me until my late 30s to finally discover that it was my time to get my songs out there and stop waiting around for others to cut my songs. I had a rough couple of years of self-reflection and began writing some of the most profoundly moving songs of my life for my own healing. I did not know I would make a CD until early 2008 and the songs have been coming as if a gift from the heavens.
I can only thank God for this talent I have and am now willing to share it with the world. I am beyond grateful and that is why I am titling my CD- Satisfied since it typifies my extreme gratitude and satisfaction with my life.
With the support of my loving husband and two beautiful sons, I can honestly say I am blessed having them in my life. Not only am I supported but I am loved and this love alone inspires me to be the best I can for these beautiful souls.
I invite all fans of music to come and listen and enjoy my life's dream. I invite all mom's who have a dream to realize it and go for it. I welcome all of you to my dreams with gratitude. From the bottom of my heart ,I humbly share my gift with you.
