..I got into music at a young age, latin music, blues, jazz & rock.
started trumpet & drums age 14, before long I was playing with people
like Mike Nock, Dave Mcrae, Alan Broadbent, Frank Gibson, Brian Smith.
went to Australia age 22 started playing a lot with great alto Bernie
Mcgann & all best Aust jazz players. found out about Avatar Meher Baba
in Aust which got me away from drugs & saved my life.
toured Aust many times with rock & soul bands. In Phillipines for 6mnths
with 11 piece soul band. went to Hong Kong for 1year contract to Hilton
hotel, met my wife there, stayed on to work local club with great brazilian
pianist Antonio de Oliviera. back to Aust to do studio & film work & tours
with top Aust artists. jammed on gigs with a lot of American artists from
Ray Charles band, Count Basie band, Diana Ross band, Santana, John Mayall
band (Blue Mitchell & Red Holloway) & many others as well as playing with
all the top Aust players- it was a very fertile time for me!
Came back to NZ to have a family, hooked up again with Frank Gibson
formed a band with him, we did many albums tours TV shows broadcasts etc.
My own band first CD in 97. played on many other peoples CD's over the
years.
Working on 3 Cd projects of my own at present- one with Mike Nock, Two with
American artists. Well known artists I have worked with over the years-
Mike Nock, Bobby Shew, Ritchie Cole, Billy Harper,Alan Broadbent,Russ
Garcia,
Mark Levine, Nathan Haines, Bernie Mcgann, Frank Gibson, Brian Smith,
Mark de Clive Lowe, Miguel Fuentes(Miles, George benson,Grover Washington)
Jazz festivals played include- Auckland JF, Wellington JF,Rotorua JF,
Christchurch JF, Kerikeri JF, Whangarei JF, Sydney JF, Manly JF,Singapore
JF,
Nambassa rock festival. Thats about enough name dropping for now! I better
