“A record label used to be able to look at a tree and say, 'That would make a great table.' Now all they can do is take a finished table and sell it at Wal-Mart.” - Alan Elliott

“Now that MySpace is here, you don’t need a label to be heard ... The world is all about energy. If you can generate energy, it will ultimately translate into money.” –Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins

KURB INFLUENCES:

Losing money on shows because you spent too much or too little on promo.

Putting an album out that no one wants to buy because no ones ever heard of you.

Touring nationwide 5 times, losing money every time . . . and learning to keep your receipts and fill out a rebate.

Going with what you know will work. Not what you think will work. Or what you would like to work.

I'd like to meet:

KURB IS DEDICATED TO THE DOZENS OF ARTISTS WHO HAVE JOINED OUR EXCLUSIVE PACKAGES RECEIVING COMPREHENSIVE DIGITAL PROMOTION SUPPORT. FIND OUT MORE:

Services we offer are built around practical campaigns but what doesn’t go on receipt is access to Kurbs consultancy and research, our huge database and experience with resources and massive international network.

As part of our artist packages we also include:

Free consultations: otherwise charged at $40p/hour.

Online Distribution: Physical and full online distribution through Itunes, Napster, Rhapsody and over 30 more of the worlds leading online music retailers, plus your own storefront for your myspace, homepage and more!

Licensing: Your songs submitted for licensing opportunities around the world every month.

Low cost Mastering. Low cost websites. Design support. Myspace support, and all the best advice and research on cd pressing, touring, marketing, publicity, booking shows, management etc as well as support in long term distribution and touring strategies for artists based in New Zealand and Australia.

Please be aware of Services we DO NOT cover:

Whether we "like" your music or think you are "good" is not of issue. It's whether you're serious enough to be realistic about the investment and resources required to make your music a success. We provide promotions at a budget suitable to your experience in the industry. We do not provide feedback on song writing or execution.

All promotions should consider a Street campaign, an Online campaign and a Media campaign. Short of posting press kits, we do not conduct publicity campaigns. Radio, TV and print media should be used where possible but are not worth spending money on.

REMEMBER: I am often out supervising postering till the early hours. You wont get me before 12. And I don't often check my voice messages. use [email protected] if you cant get me.

I am not a wild fan of "meetings". I am not trying to sell you a vacuum cleaner or a set of encyclopaedias and my priority is keeping my schedule flexible so I can be as useful as possible to my paying clients. In saying that I host A DJ evening every Thursday @ Foci bar Beresford SQ., just off the main Krd/Pitt st Intersection from 8pm. Its a perfect opportunity to talk shop.
Influences: If theres someone who knows more about myspace in NZ than me - and what really goes on in this little cyber reality - I'd REALLY like to talk to them.

Sounds Like: Whatever you sound like.

Do you like my magic dots?
