About Me

This Charming Mystery’s music is very much a product of its creators, without any real nods to outside influences beyond the broad mainstream of rock and roll itself. There are hints of surf in the predilection for instrumentals. There are nods to classical baroque in the extensive use of counterpoint, traces of garage punk and touches of blues, thrash metal and post rock. The music has grown in a very organic fashion: rather than start off with an ideal such as "Let’s be a blues band", the songs have grown from scratch without any preconceived notions of what they should sound like.
But there is no attempt to be avant-garde or just plain strange for sake of it. The music in inherently listeneable and often follows standard rock structure with well defined verses, choruses and bridges. In inadvertently dragging in a whole ragbag of influences, the music literally has something for everyone, while remaining intangibly its own.Listen to it and tell us what you think!

Whee!

Our first gig in six months was ridiculous fun. Maybe the best Thursday at Valve I've ever played (and there's been a few over the years). Cheers to all who came out, The Dissentors, Postures and Rifl...
