We are just tiny little conduits to the rock spirits. Fasten your seatbelts. The Ramps are GO!!! MISSION: To spread the devious word of rock. The bigger the better. We like stadiums. We are here for your pleasure. So make your hair bigger. Wear something sickly sweet. Pogo until your toes break. The Ramps like it loud and fearsome, but sometimes as soft as an adulterous lover’s hand. Guitar solos that will make you scream. Lyrics that possess you. Lyrics that you couldn’t care less about. Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, middle eight, chorus, end. Why try and change perfection?
LATEST NEWS:
We have a new drummer named Leon and he rocks
STYLE:
The Ramps are a four piece indie rock band, Tagged as ‘Masters of that essential 70s rock sound, with a spikey modern edge that makes your teeth tingle and your arms wave involuntarily,’ by local recording legends Mike Gibson and Andrew Downes (between them they’ve laid down tracks for Shihad and Odessa amongst others.
With stadium rock in their blood, The Ramps know how to bring the big guitar sound of the early 70s, and the frenetic energy of late 70s punk into a venue. The Ramps can craft a ballad just as easily as a darkly epic groove-rock masterpiece or a funk-infused dance floor favorite.
Where do The Ramps see themselves in two years or less?
‘If we aren’t playing to huge stadium sized audiences in all the big cities – London, Sydney, Auckland, Tokyo, Berlin, then we’ll have failed. That’s our goal. Our dream. We’re living to achieve it right now. We want that buzz. Now it’s all about will power.’
With a dedicated and relentless programme of gigs coming up, followed by time in the studio to record a shinny new EP and then more gigging, the Ramps will be playing in a venue near you soon. Watch this space.
