Hello World. Hello Spatial friends.Welcome to Mayaspace.I'm an Haitian International currently living in Auckland, New Zealand. An audio lover, musician & producer, music's definitely one of my greatest passion. Few years back when I first came here from New York City, I started a 7-piece band: VOODOO MOON......won the battle of the bands a year later out of 87 groups(not bad hein) & went on to hold residency @ a few bars/clubs like: Cause Celebre, Fu bar, etc. Also played @ a few festivals including WOMAD, PASSIFIKA and others.When Voodoo Moon got dissolved, with my friends and fellow band members Karlos and Cameron, I started KAYA, a 3 piece live outfit playing roots/electronic dance music. Did the club circuit here in Auckland, toured both the north and south Islands + Australia.... got a sort of contract with RedBull (NZ), recorded an album and played some real good gigs either supporting or playing after parties for groups like: THE FUGEES, MASSIVE ATTACK, COLD CUT, etc when they would come to town. Once again, we did the festival circuit including BIG DAY OUT.I had also been a little involved with the Sugarlicks label. With G-muva, under the pseudo "GHOSTONES" we've released a handfull of singles on some of the compilations the label is known for, including the ULTRASOUND series on wax. Still have to visit and perform on the African continent. Last European tour, my music took me to:TOKYO, LONDON, BERLIN & DUBLIN (oxegen festival), where it was cool after our set 2 check artists/groups like: SNOOP DOG, AUDIOSLAVE, JAMES BROWN (R.I.P.).........PLANET VOODOO, my new album, encompasses elements of: voodoo, hip-hop, soul, funk and dub, with collaboration from: Ilse, south african classic violonist (SESAME ST.), D Kamali, Fijian recording artist (ANOTHER DAY/ANOTHER DOLLA), Richi (FEEL'IN BROWN) and M.T.Dubb (FLYMAN).
