Honest people, around my age...I really am not interested in all you young guys who say I'm hot and want to be my "friend", thank you, but, just not interested in anyone too much younger than me, other than a friend..and it seems most men that I have known feel men and women can not be "just friends" Sad, as I ,perhaps as a woman...do feel it is possible. Also men who are much older, as we may not share many of the same interests. I do enjoy speaking to people of all ages, we can learn from everyone, just not interested in any younger men on a romantic level..been there done that! Let's get real! I am 55 and don't pretend or aspire to be any age other than where I am at now, and certainly would never "date" anyone that could be my son. Or really even more than 4 years my junior as having common interests and memories is so much more fulfilling and less stressful. Thank you very much, but no thank you. There are lots of beautiful young girls out there for romantic encounters so don't waste your time or mine.. Also those who lie about their age, WHY? So insecure in who you are? Pretending to be something you are not? False self, I hope you find happiness in your lies, they will eventually catch up with you and others will feel deceived and wonder what else you may have lied about. or "pumping up"your sorrowful ego, lying about the schools attended or "degrees" obtained..trying to impress others...Please, just be honest..."Honesty Such a Lonely Word" Just be who you are.......you are loved as you are. Be grateful for your age, it's where you are supposed to be at this time... you could be dead, and your education can be so much more from life's experiences than in any college..please be honest..with yourself and others....Be True To Yourself.I do believe the more one has in common the more likely you will be friends.Have a wonderful life, if we do not meet,"Live long and prosper". "Life is short...don't sweat the small stuff" and most of all... I wish you serenity, passion in life and love and of course Peace! What I also wish for our beautiful planet....I would like to meet Meher Baba," The only REAL KNOWLEDGE, is the knowledge that God is the inner dweller in good people and so-called bad, in saint and so-called sinner. This Knowledge requires you to help all equally as circumstances demand, without expectation of reward, and when compelled to take part in a dispute, to act without the slightest trace of enmity or hatred; to try to make others happy with brotherly or sisterly feeling for each one; to harm no one in thought, word, or deed, not even those who harm you. -------Meher Baba"John Lennon, Ghandi, Dr. Ron Paul and ask him why he did not believe enough in himself to be stronger with his message, Glenn Gould and so many too numerous to name...plus new friends around the same age as I am with like interests.Looking for real, comfortable and no negative drama or pretenses,"Boomers"male and female, in the Gainesville, Florida area to enjoy the music, art and theater scene and all I mentioned before.. There always is music or are lyrics in my head that may be sparked by a situation or comment. I also remember the impact music had on me when I was a young kid..of course the Beatles..1964 and most of my friends were then, as now musicians or artists, I remember writing down lyrics for a band when I was 13 or 14 and dancing the night away, my nick name then was Sweet Pea because I loved to dance. I remember when I was 14 walking into my Dad's apartment with some friends and the stereo was on the song that was playing was "A Whiter Shade of Pale" (Procol Harum) I was in awe..love the organ.quieted the kids that were with me and had to sit down, it blew me away....another one was "Sitting On the Dock of the Bay" (Otis Redding) and "Psychotic Reaction" by the Count Five and of course as I said the Beatles,Santana,Hendrix the Doors..Billy Joel..Love Chet Baker too...on and on..Woodstock! Tell me your memories of the music of your life..Thank you musicians for giving of your gift.....Love music and support Live music!! We all should support the people who work so hard to provide us with the tunes....the soundtrack of our lives, the impetus to bring forth the memories recalled, that music which has been there through difficult times as well as joyous occasions and will continue to be as long as man exists and continues to make music. Thank you Musicians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! Lillian's Support the Troops Night

Did not have cable for sometime, just got it with the internet..have not had it on much, just checking what the local news is like here in Gainesville.Of course the political "Debates"..we all need to be as informed as the corporate news will allow us to be. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the Colbert Report."House" was one show that I caught on occasion, but really not one for sitting in front of the TV for long....if I ever do I like Sci Fi channel, Comedy Central,Medical mysteries, Paranormal.. International news some local news, Discovery and History Channels..PBS....old movies and musicals...reruns of Seinfeld..favorite once upon a time was "Get A Life" BRILLIANT! with Chris Elliot, a writer once for Letterman. I'm not a sports person...(except I like to shoot baskets) and could attend any sports event and have fun...now living in Gainesville I think I am catching the Gator fever!! It's like a big party here every game day... (Just bought myself a "Gator shirt, getting ready to go to a game...anyone game?) I am really more into music and the arts..But again I think I would like to attend a game here in Gainesville sometime, but I hear getting a ticket to a football game is near impossible. Is that true??
Oh yes......I love to surround myself with books....I think I could live in a library...not that I read constantly or even take the time to sit and read..I may have two or more books I am reading at a time...I just love to be surrounded by books...strange huh?..I used to be a voracious reader, and "get lost" in reading one book for hours.... but it seems since I have been a single mom..I would feel a little guilty just sitting and reading unless it was a textbook or had some purposeful learning to be gleaned from it. But, now my youngest son is now 19 perhaps I can find more free time once my new job becomes routine and I acclimate to working nights once again. I do read philosophy, and spiritually uplifting books usually.I am still (on going) reading about Meher Baba at this time and books on Zen..tons of magazines..(not the "fluff" kind..but on architecture, remodeling, cottages, travel, Historical Preservation, Mother Earth News..etc..Here is a Zen Buddhist Text I love with a saying..no I'm not a Buddhist, I do not subscribe to any religion, I am very spiritual.. I just really like this saying..."The Master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence in whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is doing both."I heard and read these Enya lyrics and wanted to post for you to contemplate also...who can warm your soul, quell your passion? Enya lyrics..."Exile" (song was on profile and may be again..) I like the lyrics, "Who then can warm my soul? who can quell my passion?""Cold as the northern winds in December mornings, Cold is the cry that rings from this far distant shore.Winter has come too late. too close beside me. How can I chase away all these fears deep inside?I'll wait the signs to come. I'll find a way. I will wait the time to come. I'll find a way home.My light shall be the moon and my path -- the ocean. My guide the morning star as I sail home to youI'll wait the signs to come. I'll find a way. I will wait the time to come. I'll find a way home.Who then can warm my soul? who can quell my passion? out of these dreams -- a boat. I will sail home to you."Poem...Oneone...of my own...Not one who is owned by not one, but two...The tie that binds, that bone of contention....that makes my teeth grind......in utter frustration...one....of my own..
