The Righteous Kind, is a rock-n-roll super group from Gainesville, FL, a hotbed of musical activity in the southeast. Led by one of the area’s best known song writers, their ambition is to reinvent the power and mystic of music from rock’s greatest generation. Think a 21st century meeting of The Beatles, Spirit, and Sly and The Family Stone. The band features superior song writing and has tremendous stylistic range, from psychedelic to classic to garage to alternative to pop rock. The Righteous Kind are superb showmen; their live shows rock and are more than anything else fun. They just released their debut CD entitled ‘Some Are of Love.’
The band consists of four veteran musicians with decades of musical performance and recording experience. The front man and guitarist is Charles Ray Martin, who many remember as “The Colonel†from Gainesville’s iconic rockabilly band dblWiDE. On bass is Tom Miller, who played with Chicago blues sensation Vini and the Demons. On drums is Larry Thompson, a main stay of the local recording scene, who drummed for dblWiDE. Rounding out the group is B. Bruce Brashear on the Hammond B3 organ.
