I am an acoustic instrumental guitarist living in Albuquerque, New Mexico (USA). I have played guitar for 36 years. My first love was the Spanish guitar because I thought it was amazing that so much music could come from just one person and one instrument. I also played electric guitar and bass in bands for many years but returned to acoustic instrumental music 20 years ago. I love listening to and playing instrumental guitar music in public settings like parties or restaurants because the music creates a mood and an atmosphere, but people can still have conversations without having to raise their voices.
I play mostly original compositions in an eclectic mix of styles, including Jazz, Celtic, Bossa Nova, Classical, Flamenco, and other ambient world music style. I play a steel string Taylor, usually in altered tunings and a nylon string Takemine in standard tuning or Drop D.
I owe a huge musical debt to Phil Keaggy, Pierre Bensusan, Michael Hedges and Tommy Emmanuel whose inspiration has kept me playing music all these years. I owe a continuing dept to many other musicians, including the ones on this page, whose music continues to inspire me.
