About Me

Check out this video: San Antonio

Endowed...with a slightly outrageous dark sense of humor (I pun, I tease, I love to laugh). Sarcasm and parody. I like the internet but loathe those vacuous chatrooms inhabited by sad losers who need validation from ill-informed strangers. (About as dim as advertising for 'love' on so-called 'adult' dating sites). BTW, I'm not 100. More mid-centuryish. Traveller. Former military lab officer (Major, Army MSC). Have held elective office (city councilperson). A special joy was in being the first female on that council and the youngest ever elected at that time. Adventurous Texas female. Ethical. Enigmatic. Celtic heritage. Meat and potatoes girl. Mexican, Italian, Greek, Chinese food...spicy stuff. TexMex! Chocolate mint ice cream. Totally addicted to Pepsi. Love variety. Love gracious living. Love music. Designed my own home. Intrigued by classical architecture and art (which made living in Italy idyllic). I adored the ambience of Northern Italy. Lived in the DC/VA area for 11 years, also. Love to talk to people who have ideas and ideals. Love wordplay... verbal gymnastics and quick wit. Goal-oriented. I appreciate interesting people who observe and reason well. Thinkers. Hate to be bored or ignored. Versatile conversationalist. Well-read and sophisticated. Knows too much trivia. I like writing poetry and sci-fi/mystery/crime stories (for 30-plus years now). My five kids are grown. MT(ASCP). ASCP = American Association of Clinical Pathologists. (My ex-husband was an OB/GYN. Army medicine was an integral part of our lives for many years).

Bluebonnets!

For my kids: ARMY BRATS.
Books: Crime, Mystery, Biography, Historical Fiction, Sci-Fi.

I'd like to meet:

People with integrity who are fun, smart, witty and optimistic. People who get excited over learning, who examine the past and mull over a positive future. Loyal friends and people who see the humor in everyday life. (My family and I laugh a lot). Dour people are not our style. People who aren't afraid to express themselves. Kind humans who aren't preoccupied with disdain for others. People looking at new ventures, collaborations, creativity ... exploring talent and potential. Those who are living life with joy, but who recognize sadness and distress... and do what they can to help. Perceptive people. The people I have known... good, bad, disappointing or awesome have created the person I am today. Negative, pessimistic people destroy good intentions. Rudeness paralyzes. However, I try to appreciate the good aspects of it all, while absorbing tough lessons from the bad experiences. I condense them into a brief life chapter and move on to the next phase. I've learnt some fantastic things from people I never would have thought I could. (Note: I just would rather skip any more negative experiences, thanks).

Music:

Texas music. Country. Bluegrass. Celtic. I'm especially drawn to Texas musicians like Walt Wilkins, Cory Morrow, Guy Clark, Bleu Edmondsen, Robert Earl Keen, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Steve Earle, Brandon Rhyder, Emmylou Harris, Van Zandt, Pat Green, etc. Just too many great ones to remember right now. We're so lucky to have an abundance of great talent here in Texas. "There's music in the dirt down there". Love the Celtic influence on Texas music. mp3stream.m3u And then there is that Spanish/Tejano sound...salsa!

Movies:

There are so many movies that have made a profound impact on me, especially those with a documentary or a historical focus. Those would include movies such as these: Killing Fields, Gettysburg, Last of the Mohicans, To Kill A Mockingbird, Hotel Rwanda, Braveheart, etc. Catharsis and caring. I also like humorous spoofs and parodies like Spinal Tap, Pee Wee's Big Adventure ("There's no basement in the Alamo"(classic!!), Rocky Horror Picture Show and Pirates of the Caribbean just to mention a few. Good science fiction. Yes, I've been a big Star Wars fan. And I have to mention the family source of quotes from that great movie, Joy Luck Club.

VICENZA, ITALY - Four years of great memories

Television:

OK. I watch very little of it but I do have TiVO. Yes, I have all the Scrubs, Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives episodes. On DVD, I have the Father Ted and Dark Shadows series. I'm fond of the Discovery, History and Travel channels too. Bourdain rocks.

Your Soul
You are a wanderer. You constantly long for a new adventure, challenge, or even a completely different life.

You are a grounded person, but you also leave room for imagination and dreams. You feet may be on the ground, but your head is in the clouds.

You hope that people see you for how you are, not just how you look. But deep down, you know that's not exactly true.
Your near future is still unknown, and a little scary. You'll get through wild times - and you'll textually enjoy it.
For you, love is all about caring and comfort. You couldn't fall in love with someone you didn't trust. <>
