Welcome to the Finbarr Clancy Fan Site on myspace! We are so thrilled to have you with us. Please note: this is a fan site; this is not Finbarr's myspace page. The purpose of this space is to bring fans together to show their support for Finbarr. How can you do that? By adding him as a friend, adding The High Kings as your friend, listening to and maybe even buying their music... the list goes on.
Though this is not his personal page, he is aware of it and has given us his full support. So, please feel free to look around, watch the video clips, and take a look at the music selection here.

The High Kings Performing "Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?"
Finbarr Clancy is son to the famous Bobby Clancy, brother to Paddy, Tommy, and Liam, who were responsible for the revival of Irish folk ballads in the 1960's and '70's. Growing up in the Clancy home, Finbarr learned at the tender young age of 5 to play the banjo and bodhran. By the time he was 17, he had learned to play the guitar and the flute and was writing his own songs. Some of his earliest memories were performing in country pubs with his father and sister Aoife, who later became a member of Cherish the Ladies.
With the revival in the 1960's, The Clancy Brothers still maintained their fame in the US, and Finbarr was able to join and tour with them in 1995. He has continued that tradition of sharing with the US the traditional Irish ballads, even with his father's passing away in 2002. Finbarr continued to sing at Irish folk festivals all over the country and appeared at the largest Irish festival in Milwaukee. He had also made several local television appearances while on tour.
Now, he is a member of The High Kings, a group put together by Celtic Collections executive producer David Kavanagh and Celtic Woman producer and creator David Downes. While maintaining a musical connection to his contemporaries Finbarr's love of the singing tradition is apparent as soon as he walks on the stage. He is delighted to be a part of The High Kings and to continue carrying on the tradition of his family before him.
