Get more at Myspacethang.comAbout me I'm Linda Bryant.I was born in Nashville, but have lived all over the country doing everything from waitressing to writing professionally. I'm a journalist, mother, poet, spiritual gypsy. I'm a bit of a scattered soul, but sometimes something aligns in me and I create -- a poem, a lyric, a newspaper or magazine article that's elevated a little beyond standard communication. As I age I feel there's more wisdom muscle, more inside that wants to come out. I am beginning to feel like an artist.I have a lot to say. I've lived many places including an island in Washington State, Brooklyn, Mpls/St. Paul. A few years ago I moved back to Nashville, TN., which is my ancestral home. Right now I'm working as a business journalist, but I also worked at a large daily for several years. The journalism thing is a gig, a way to make money with words and sometimes it's quite constraining since words for me are more like music, more art than commerce. But writing's the only "professional" thing I've ever been successful at, so I hack away! In the meantime, one can ALWAYS write poetry on napkins in coffeehouses and restaurants, keep a journal, freelance the more artistic stuff, send poetry into literary magazines that rarely pay, outline novels and arty real life memoirs. Sometimes it's good enough just to find the exact right word when writing a lead for a breaking news story. All I know is that words are music. My entire adult life has been spent trying to study and understand the enlightened psychologist Carl Jung. I really gravitate to the Transcendentalists (Emerson, Thoreau etc.) and bluegrass and Americana music. I have many interests and passions, which makes it hard to concentrate on something for very long.I believe spirituality/religion is tailored for each individual. That why it can be just perfect for the world to be full of many faiths and no faiths. There's room for everyone. I really believe the most important thing is kindness, how we treat one another, how we (and if we) make amends.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Artists, writers and musicians. I like the term -- "cultural creatives" ...Folks who are more or less classless, who exist in the world of ideas and creativity and who end up contributing to the world in deeds and actions.
