About Me

Life is so precious. Where to begin? I am a free spirit, love to dance and play violin more than anything else in the world...in smoke-free air. I spend my days hiking and biking in the mountains, skiing in the winter. Aside from caring about the planet, the environment, and every living creature, my greatest wish is to live on a tobacco-free planet. Breathing is not a choice. The tobacco industry is the most evil, greedy, murderous conglomerate on the face of the earth. I can't help but wonder how many more must die the horrific death that comes to those who smoke or are around it before this addictive deadly product becomes illegal. Enough on that...My first memory of dancing was when I was only 3 years old. Born in California, living in Carmel for the first 2 1/2 years of my life, my mother (an opera singer and the most loving, enlightened being I could hope to be raised by), moved us to Guadalajara Mexico. Though I learned how to speak spanish fluently, I lost almost every word on my return to Carmel, California, at the age of six. Soon after moving back to Carmel, my older sister (9 years my senior) had to leave to attend college, so I was sent to live with my father and stepmother in San Francisco at only 8 years old.Everything in my life I ever wished to have, I achieved. It was not by standing around and waiting for someone else to take charge. Once I decided I wanted something, I always did whatever it took to achieve my goal. It started when I was very young. I danced professionally with the San Francisco Ballet and became concert mistress of my junior high school orchestra when I was only 12 years old. When I was 16, I wanted to go to Hawaii with the San Francisco Ballet. I was chosen out of thousands of children to be one of the 6 children to go on tour with the company. I performed professionally with the Joffrey Ballet at only 15 years old, as well. In school, I managed to get straight A's so that I could get into Lowell High School where, once again, I managed to become the concert mistress of the advanced orchestra though I was only in 9th grade. I was also honored in being able to study with the concert master of the San Francisco Symphony, Zaven Melikian.Later in life, I won three national belly dance competitions, learning all that I could after placing second on my first try, determined to do whatever it took to win, and perfecting my middle eastern dance techniques. Creating my own form of dance, which I call "world dance", combining many different dance forms including ballet and middle eastern dance, I started my world travels by performing in Japan. In '93 I was featured in the Aladdin number on the Oscars . I have been able to make my living doing what I love best...dancing all over the world and now playing violin as well.Other than making the world a place where no one ever has to inhale the 4,000 to 8,000 chemicals, 63 carcinogens and 619 additives in tobacco smoke, I dream of meeting Prince Charming... a man who does not have a drinking problem, doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, has the same political views, understands my fight against big tobacco, is intelligent, wants to hike, bike, kayak, ski, travel, do art projects, listen to my music or even play music with me occasionally, who appreciates my dancing, who loves magic as much as I do, makes my heart sing, and, most of all, challenges my mind and makes me laugh.... and who makes me faint with longing sexually. If you have read this far, and you meet the first 7 requirements in my list, I would love to hear from you. I am mainly here to meet fellow musicians, dancers, magicians, entertainers, and anti tobacco advocates, though.
