Politically-incorrect surfer punk

About Me

The new CD, MAXIMUM RETOX, in full, sonic hi-fi sound is finally here! "This kicks effing arse! No, really. I'm not kidding." -- A.J. Snoston, freelance music critic ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------- MAXIMUM RETOX features more than 10 tracks, including "Teenage Alcoholic," "18 Wheels of Terror," "Motorcycle Death Club," and ".11 Gauge." ================================================"These guys really know how to bring it home." -- Kerraang magazine =================================================="[A]nother recent notable reunion -- ... Babihed -- was inevitable, will last longer and will probably overshadow what was just a one-off for the immortal Baldo Rex..." -- Westword================================================="Th ose guys in Korn were assholes to you guys. They sucked, you ruled. F-ck them." -- Amy Jeen, band protectress================================================= "It's hard to imagine how the French Foreign Legion would have utilized the sonic Molotov cocktail this quartet lobs on stage." -- D. Thomas, Rocky Mountain News ================================================"Houston's bass and Elkerton's guitar rip out combustible surf licks ... Lightning smokes, drinks, snarls and even sings with the kind of disinterested condescension that has been in short supply since Johnny Rotten started singing pop songs." -- Rocky Mountain News =================================================="It's as startling as a glass of beer thrown in your face." -- RMN ================================================"Houston also receives more audience attention than most bassists. Live, he resembles a mad math teacher on Thorazine as he bounds around the stage delivering bizarre, midsong proclamations -- for example, "William Rehnquist!" -- or holding his bass over his head like a kid mimicking a triumphant Rocky pose in front of his bedroom mirror." -- Westword ================================================"Who's the next Green Day? - Babihed!" -- Results, 2007 punk video contest with Babihed placing 4th =================================================Babihed: A site filled with dark, XZanthia gothic model, performer actor, actress. gothic, erotic, vampire, harley davidson and alternative lifestyle graphics. -- Results, 2007 Google search================================================= "[Lightning's] vocals range from raw-throated denouncements to neo-rockabilly belches, and Elkerton's guitar playing delivers solos and riffs that cut like rusty razors. The result is loud noise that will either make you want to dance and drink all night or head straight for the door." -- Westword ============================================================ ====================================In the mid-1990s, amid screeching feedback, Babihed finished a raunchy set at Denver’s Lion’s Lair. The fans ended up outside, on East Colfax, recovering the shards of the guitar Mike Machine Gun smashed in the street. Then, in keeping with the band’s gentlemanly decorum, the throng was invited back inside for a final round – on the tab of Punk’s Princes! Now, through the magic of sound recording and the Internet, you can experience the explosive quartet from the relative comfort of home. Hear singer Jimmy Lightning, the West’s own “perverted Elvis,” warble lyrics worthy of Hunter S. Thompson.Imagine a front-row seat at the Cricket on the Hill as sweaty bassist (and former American Idol bouncer) Bill “The Rake” Houston leaps across your davenport “like a mad math teacher on Thorazine.” Kick back to the karate-chop chops of Pete Sake, a worthy replacement for Mark Dee on drums. And think, “Ooooooh,” as the furious Machine Gun channels the ghost of Link Wray on “Motorcycle Death Club” – a tribute recorded on the day the Rumbleman rambled Heavenward unbeknownst to the band. In this, their first – and perhaps last – 21st Century title, Babihed, dubbed both “legends” and “losers,” offer an intoxicating cocktail of new tracks on Maximum Retox. Another round barkeep – and make mine Babihed!- Arthur J. Snottington III, music critic/shameless layabout================================================== TO THE HEDS FROM A FANI first saw you at local po-looza 1994 or 93. You were playing pussycat (Babihed's tribute to the Cosmic Psychos: RIP Robbie "The Rocket" Watts) and throwing stickers at everybody. The security was choking out the moshpit crowd, but the whole fucken thing got out control and the moshpit got pretty big. You remember, huh. And then I followed all your shows for about 3 to 6 months before I moved back to california. I had one of your CDs. I bought it for $5 bucks at some pub you knuckle heads were playing at ... some red head dude use to follow you guys around and dance in this psychotic seizure. Remember that idiot? (He's currently working for the DoD!!!) I played that fucken CD all the time untill one day I lost my whole collection somewhere in tejauna MEXICO. Thanks for the music and some goodtime memories. I guess you are getting be old fuckers too. I figured you all for dead! (Robbie Watts died in July at 47.) I'm glad your getting back with some new sounds! I know you have no choice but to create the noise! Yeah..........Kurt why did you do it?The one and only Artman Core design
