Movies:

Twisted mysteries and stuff that makes me laugh. Old black and whites and old Betty Boop and Grampy cartoons

Television:

Six Feet Under, Dead Like Me, Sopranos,The 'L' Word, Queer as Folk, that's pretty much it.

Books:

Anything at all by Charles Bukowski and of course, all of the amazingly cool books penned by Chris Walter. Love the stuff about the Winnipeg and Vancouver punk scene. (some of us old punks are even in there!) Hell, while I'm at it, go to Chris' website for Gofuckyerself Press at www.punkbooks.com for more info on Chris' books and where to get them. From a female punk perspective, also recommend reading 'Cinderella's Big Score' by Maria Raha about women of the punk underground and 'Pretty In Punk: Girl's Gender Resistance in a Boy's Subculture' by Lorraine LeBlanc. Both excellent books about women in the punk movement. Other than that, I read all sorts of things, anything that catches my eye or is of interest to me at any one particular moment in time. Now accepting advance orders for Welfare Wednesdays.

Welfare Wednesdays is the tale of a down-but-not-quite-out couple, thrown together by fate and left to survive in a hostile and drug saturated environment. This dysfunctional love story, set in Vancouvers scenic Downtown Eastside, is a return to the harsh reality of East Van. As usual, Chris has a talent for making the sordid underbelly of life seem almost funny. In a sick sort of way, of course.
