The Batcave opened it's doors to the pretty young creatures of London Town in July 1982. It was run by Ollie Wisdom, lead singer of Batcave house band The Specimen and former front man of 1977 Roxy Fav' Raves The Unwanted. The Batcave was an alternative to the absurd elitism of the old Blitz kid brigade and respite by glam from the depressing ghetto that punk had become by 1979. When The Batcave first opened it's doors, 'Goth'was not a commonly used phrase.
