If anything... I have a wonderful family and a great
husband of 8 years which I met on the Net - by the name of
André
(www.myspace.com/andrecohen), I am an RN (Registered Nurse) from California.
In October 2001 after many emails from the University of
Phoenix, and encouragement and persistence from my husband, I decided to go
back to school to obtain my BSN. When the BSN program was over I continued on
at UOP to obtain my dual masters degree in Healthcare Management and nursing.
UPDATE: I have completed my MBA/HCM and MSN. Currently working on my EdD
(Educational Doctorate) Since October of 2005. I love the University Of
Phoenix programs and learning from a diverse group of people world-wide.
I have been a nurse since 1986, working in a variety of areas, Pediatrics,
Intensive care nursery, well baby nursery, labor and delivery, and emergency
room nurse. In addition, I teach nursing at a local community college.
When I started school, my goal was simply to get my BSN, and as time
progressed I have decided to go all the way for my EdD in in education, for
teaching and growing nurses has become my passion.
I have been influenced by many of my professors both MSN and PhD nurses. I
have found that the University of Phoenix program to be by far the best and
most challenging learning experience I ever had.
I thought that I knew many facets of nursing, but I now realized how limited
my knowledge base was, until returning to school. Goes to prove that the more
you learn, the more you realize how much you don't know.. Now I know for a
fact.. Knowledge is power! André says "what is knowledge if not shared"..
("beside being an advantage" ) lol.
