Debi Raven's life has been intertwined with singing and
performing from the very beginning. As a child, no flashlight was safe from
becoming an impromptu microphone at family gatherings. Showcasing a natural
business savvy at the age of twelve, Debi was performing professionally at
weddings.
As a versatile songstress, her musical spectrum ranges across different styles
from standards, popular, R&B, dance and performing the National Anthem for Major
and Minor League Ball Teams.
Versatility, in tandem with a four octave vocal musical range, offers her
musical virtuosity on stage. Influenced by the sweet sophistication of the
Brazilian bossa nova sounds of Gilberto/Jobim, the wide style varieties of Diane
Schuur and the pureness and clarity of Karen Carpenter and Patti Austin. Debi's
vocal artistry delivers an aural treat for the ears.
In addition to singing, Debi has expressed her musical feelings via the pen. She
has composed the Latin jazz song, “Look Into My Eyes†that earned some radio
airplay. Constantly composing, she is finishing the lyrics to original
smooth-jazz collaboration with Ron Kobayashi.
Debi is very thankful for her gift, giving thanks daily to be able to share the
love for the audience's listening and dancing pleasures.
Currently Debi is working on her debut CD set to be released on Carpet Cat Records in 2007.
