Saying hello with a few pictures and words...The life and art of Frida Kahlo, I enjoy...reading Sylvia Plath's journals(have yet to finish),Coldplay's song "Trouble", postcards, a green scarf for two dollars, copper, air balloons, eyes that see something new every time, Monet, The American Poetry Review,The Vagina Monologues, subscriptions to Poets and Writers magazine, post-it notes, chai tea latte,the opera, voluteer work,Mark Rothko(we share the same birthday),pictures that are filled with irony, voting(yes, my vote does count!), a talented guitar player, the sound of the harmonica, peacocks walking in the grass,the beaches across the country, statements filled with sarcasm, reading the dictionary, complex metaphors,Ted Kooser's philosophies on the writing process,detailed conversations until four in the morning,red poppies that stand strong underneath a dark sky,watching others communicate through sign language, roses of all colors(my middle name is Rose),nude art,gazing at an autumn pond that is rich in color,the honest musician(or any artist, for that matter),taking a bath in rose petals, drinking a slightly chilled glass of Yellow Tail(Merlot) from Australia, the smell of sandlewood perfume, walking in the rain while wearing brand new clothes, goldfish crackers, cold slices of chedder cheese at two in the afternoon, walking in a park in the middle of autumn, holding hands with a man that honestly loves me, Milano cookies(the original), winking at a stranger from across a crowded room,the important women of the world(Simone, especially), making breakfast in the nude, A peaceful lotus pond in a random location,dreaming about having my own koi fish pond, the philosophies of Henry David Thoreau,candles that smell like cinnamon, cinnamon bear candies, small concert venues,Impressionism, Realism, Romanticism, The Beat Poets,The Black Mountain Poets, Surrealism, red apples, the human psyche,free association, laundry after nine in the evening, poetry that challenges the conservative thought process, the artist that is no longer afraid,Jackson Pollack, wind chimes, a warm cup of coffee at two in the morning (not decaf, either), Phantom of the Opera,the monarch butterfly(my name means butterfly),punctuation(especially the ellipsis), watching a trail of quail in the front driveway, thuderstorms in the middle of summer, poetry anthologies,art museums in New York and London, lifting up shells from the sand and listening for the sounds of the ocean, reading books about song structure,stanzas, strophes, black and white photographs,listening to The Academy of American Poets audio cd, Salvador Dali's painted explanation of time, the sound of saxaphone in a quiet auditorium, watching a cardinal bird sitting on a Palo Verde tree, chasing hummingbirds in the middle of March, extensive emails sessions, writing beyond the cliche, water color paintings,Creative Writing workshops, Mary Oliver's poem "The Journey"(I read it at least once a day),listening to Marvin Gaye while sitting on the floor of a dark room, getting on a plane to return to England, oversized oak trees(the perfect place for a poet to feel small in a world so large), politics(Women's rights, especially),personal essays, Confessional Poets(Anne Sexton),walking through a book isle and running my hands along the binding of new books, and sleeping in a warm bed with ten oversized pillows,Mary Anne Radmacher,water droplets that look like this,inspiring quotes,and the famous philosophies of life and writing from Jack Kerouac.
