Mindful

About Me

What can I say? I like the song.Chris Knox ~ "It's Love"
Craftsman/Artist/Musician/Unitarian Buddhist.
I'm a bit different than your average American male.
As a general rule, I avoid Baseball, Basketball, and Football as if they were the plague.
In fact, I would rather chew blasting caps or barbed wire than sit down and watch a game.
It's not that I hate sports, my passion follows a different path.....
Unlearning a whole lifetime of bad habits and negativity, It's taking time to change my old ways, and it's definitely worth the effort
For me, it's about letting the past go, being mindful, living in the present.
My one pet peev is: If you play the part of a "Victim, and everything that comes out of your mouth is negative in every way, go somewhere else, we will not be friends.
Born August 31st in Bremerhaven Germany,
I have lived in Asia Minor, the Far East, and Europe before the age of 14.
My Heritage is Anglican Scots with a dash of Chippewa/Ojibway.
Ambidextrous, I can do anything with both hands, but I write with my right.
I have no piercings, (I got shot through the upper lip with a pellet gun when I was 15, that was enough for me).
No tattoo in sight, but I like them on other people.
Number of things in my past I regret:
Not much
For the most part, I don't live in the past.

I stack rocks like little kids eat French fries...
Good friends are worth their weight in gold.

My Interests

..Music!
Both listening and playing.... Guitars, Mandolins, Banjos, and other string instruments. I also play Harmonica, Penny whistle and Recorder.
Enjoy listening to Bagpipes of all kinds, though I haven't mustered the courage to learn how to play one (yet). At the moment, I am playing Folk, Bluegrass and Celtic.
Paint, draw, and carve,
I know computers and their languages from the inside out, work with Adobe, Corel,
Rhino 3D,and others.

Sailing, Listening to music, Playing Video games, Working with my hands, Being with friends, Exploring my Celtic Roots,
Hiking, Rockhounding, almost any activity in the great outdoors.

I'd like to meet:

Other Artists, musicians and free thinkers, I'm not picky, as long as you aren't too freaky or want to kill me or my family, it's all good. One of Buddha's students asked,
"Are you the messiah?" "No", answered Buddha.
"Then are you a healer?" "No", Buddha replied.
"Then are you a teacher?" the student persisted. "No, I am not a teacher."
"Then what are you?" asked the student, exasperated.
"I am awake", Buddha replied.

Music:

Almost everything, though I am not too fond of Rap or Country.

Movies:

..I watch them, probably 1 a week,I am just too lazy to add my list..

Television:

Television drains all your creative juices.... Ain't it cool?
Yup, I watch TV, but I am pretty picky about what I waste my life on. Discovery channel, some local PBS stuff, Science channel, you know, Boy stuff.
Funny though,
I have many friends and acquaintances who stick their noses in the air, stating they would Never waste their time watching Television, yet they will stare at their computer monitor for hours and hours on end.
Oh, the irony..........

Books:

..I read EVERYTHING I can get my hands on except romance novels.

Heroes:

..My Daughter Liz, My friend and mentor Barney Munger and his wonderful wife Mary Meyer, Siddhartha, The Dalai Lama, Basho, Frank Lloyd Wright, Buckminster Fuller, Andy Warhol, Albert Einstein, Any human beings who are truly doing their best to better themselves or others, and many many more....
