“The Diaries of Lisa Lansingâ€, is a series of stories about a family forced to live in government housing in Fort Worth, Texas. With little or no adult supervision, left to survive in an atmosphere far less than friendly to children so young; they made their way, befriending city workers, the elderly, and the homeless alike.
Painful lessons, learned as they grew in the maze of twists and turns of a corrupt city, formed an uncommon bond between siblings, one that deepened the meaning of their love for each other.
This journey into young minds faced with survival and sorrow,is not for the faint or placid, so don't expect it; as places visited may not even be known to exist by most. The strong become weak, and those perceived to be weak become strong. Told from the viewpoint of a young girl, the family copes with abuse, gang violence, their own mistakes and even death.
"The Diaries of Lisa Lansing" begins with "I'll Always Be Your Friend" a tragic tale that traces the destruction of innocence and its inherent trust for humanity. It follows with "Yellow Bandana" a suspense thriller that sows the seeds of darkness within those good as they deal with the malevolent. Then "Tunnels and Towers" sends you through unknown streets, chaotic events, dark tunnels, broken bridges and an array of emotions intensely deep and personal. It ends with "Trinity Lost" a study in vengeance and its value in a cynical city, and within which a final shocking scene will expose one last horror.
The wind had voices, did they sing?
Around about,a devil in dust
danced here and there,
and struck to force
the knights of day
to join its waltz,
to rock and sway.
The voices,if such they were,
lingered only long enough,
to cast an eerie melody.
One is in the hearts of men,
another floats in spirit.
A virus lives upon the air.
It can sneak inside,
and if dormant long,
it becomes too late
to bridge life's gap.
Does malevolence lie in wait as well,
in the soil,or the water
or the firmament?
The behavior of children may signal abuse and neglect long before any physical signs appear…
We all need to be aware of the signs and signals children show us before its too late.Join me in educating the world to make it a happier place for our children to live. They are our future and deserve the best we as a society can give.
