About Me

My First Gallery Exhibit!!!!
HOWL II
OURARTSITEDOTCOM INTERVIEW
I think this sums it up:
I also came across my first grade report card today, and found it most interesting. Specifically, my eye was drawn to the Teacher Comment section. Being an egotist, I am quite taken with the notion of myself as a child; what I thought, how I behaved, what I wanted. A part of me strongly believes the teacher wrote the same general message on all the report cards. But perhaps she didn’t, for her message is a bit odd. To wit, “BRANE is a pleasure to have in my class. He works and plays well with others. He accepts criticism with good grace and has a wholesome attitude toward school.”
First things first, she says I worked and played well with others? I find that interesting. Apparently my anti-social nature was brought on later in life than a mere 5 years out of the womb. I accept criticism with good grace? Oh, where are you little five year old me? Please come back and impart to me some of your innate, innocent wisdom.
Though the most enigmatic in my mind is the “has a wholesome attitude toward school.” What the fuck is she talking about? The fourth definition listed for “wholesome” reads “free from disease or taint.” Yes, now I am positive of what she meant. I liked school, I did not have a problem with it like some of the other kids I vaguely remember in a half dream. I long for wretched youth, when my good looks and smarts were still fresh and nubile, rubbery and wet, clean and appealing.
I wish I could hang around with myself as a child. My weird new brain. I remember getting angry cause I wasn’t popular in kindergarten. There were a couple of cool girls who hung out with this one kid, ah what’s the use? Fuck those assholes, and the easy lives they no doubt currently lead, all rich and classy and handsome and cultured and sophisticated.
I really want to cry right now.
Oh yeah, here's my new short film, The Grass Under Ground.
Watch it!

My Interests

Film, Dreaming, The World, Writing, The Ocean, Night, People, figuring out exactly what it is the alternate psychic dimension wants me to do with my life

I'd like to meet:

Gaear Grimsrud, Max Renn, Frank Booth, "Here's To Ben!", Jesus Christ as played by Willem Dafoe, John "Carpy" Carpenter as played by Willem Dafoe, BL, James Ballard as played by James Spader, Vaughan as played by Elias Koteas, Ben from Leaving Las Vegas, Frank the Thief, & Jackie Flannery.

Here's an experimental short I made about love and painT.

Music:

Crazy electronic shit you've never heard of, so why bother? Oh how I wish I listened to bad music, that way I could hear it on the radio, but alas, I was born into this era, and not a futuristic one. Though it should be said my electronic tastes are decidedly above ground. So while I deride most of you for your awful taste in music, rest assured your esteemed author is derided as well by those even more snobby than him. Amazing that.

Movies:

Bad Lieutenant, Leaving Las Vegas, Naked, They Live, Crash(the Cronenberg film about sex and car crashes, not that piece of shit movie about how racism is bad mmmmkay), State of Grace, Short Cuts, Blue Velvet, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Dangerous Game, Do The Right Thing, Miami Vice(best looking movie in over a decade, go fuck yourself if you think otherwise!), Videodrome, Contempt, The Low Down, Barfly, Fitzcarraldo, Burden of Dreams, Dumb and Dumber, The Big Lebowski, The Last Temptation of Christ, The Long Goodbye, Baraka, Glengarry Glenross, Elephant, Miami Blues, Auto Focus, Six Degrees of Separation, The Five Obstructions, Solaris (Soderbergh version), Eraserhead, Alien 3, King of New York, Superman, The Fly, Point Break, Lost Highway, OHMSS, Dr. No, Dinner With Friends, Band of Outsiders, The Rules of Attraction, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, The Apostle, Dead Ringers, and others that unfortunately leave my mind at the moment.

Television:

Brideshead Revisited, Unscripted, What's Happening, Cosmos, C-Span Booknotes, 24, Miami Vice Season 1, Family Guy, Hell's Kitchen just to see Ramsay calling someone a "crap cook," Katt Williams: The Pimp Chronicles Volume 1 just to hear him say "If you go to my house there's Alize at my house, I don't drink no motherfuckin' Alize, but bitches do!" Pirates of Silicon Valley just to hear Noah Wyle as Steve Jobs say to Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates "What is this I keep hearing about, this, this WINDOWS?" Oprah (to laugh my ass off at her and that insipid group of troglodytes she so affectionately calls an audience. Fuck them in their collective asses, this includes all the douchebags at the gym that watch her while tending to their anorexic frames. The irony is quite delicious.)

Books:

Brideshead Revisited, Cronenberg on Cronenberg, On Wine and Hashish, Memoirs of a Madman, Archie comics, Notes from Underground, DSM IV.....I'm not really a well read person book wise. I think books suck, there, I said it. I like magazines. I like to read The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, American Spectator, New Scientist, various ones that lay around a doctor's office, particularly the women's mags, what wonderful insight into the current brainwashing the fairer sex undergoes!

Heroes:

Chicken cutlet...lettuce...American cheese...esstra mayo. Shove it in your fuckin' mouth! If you're talking about human heroes, no such thing exists, because as the man said, a hero ain't nothin' but a sandwich.
