Welcome to the myspace page for the
Stone Hill Science Fiction Association and Necronomicon.
Founded in 1979, we are the largest SF club in the Tampa Bay area and one of the major clubs in the state of Florida.
Our main goal is to have fun by bringing together people with interests in the many facets of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stone Hill(the organization) should not be confused with
Necronomicon, the annual SF, fantasy & horror convention hosted by Stone Hill members.
Stone Hill is not a legal entity.
Necronomicon, Inc. is a non profit organization registered with the State of Florida.
My Interests
The Stone Hill Science Fiction Association (and by extension, their conventions) is a non-profit organization. All of the workers at the conventions are unpaid volunteers that do this out of a love of the genre. This generosity also extends to the groups that we support.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Throughout the years, the convention has helped raise money for the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, Wildlife Rescue, Francis House and others. Every other month, Florida Blood Services brings a Mobile out to take blood donations. FBS records don't go back as far as 1982, but we've donated somewhere over 100 gallons of blood in the past two decades!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kids & Canines: Currently, we are working to raise funds for Kids & Canines. This is a Hillsborough County Schools Program that uses "At-Risk" students to train assistance dogs for the disabled. The kids work with the dogs and learn discipline, patience and responsibility. Afterward, the trained dogs are matched up with a disabled person who can benefit from the extra "hands". Follow the hyperlink to find out more.
All of the proceeds from our Charity Auction will go to Kids & Canines, as well as a donation from Stone Hill itself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Francis House: Francis House is a day respite center for people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. It is the only respite program of its kind in the tri-city area of Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater. It's a safe place for people to come and experience a positive environment that is conducive to helping the individual help themsef. All services are free and confidential.

Stone Hill donates to them every Christmas from our treasury, and the pockets of members. Also, the proceeds from the auctions at ConGames and Vidcon are donated too.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
!!!!!!!!!!BABYSITTING AT NECRO!!!!!!!!!!
Necronomicon provides babysitting services by Professional licensed and bonded Nannies Friday and Saturday during the convention. The hours available are Friday from 6p-12a and on Saturday at 12p-4p and 6p-12a. The babysitting is free with adult paid admission to the convention for 2 hours at a time. We provide videos and games and some other activities.
I'd like to meet:
Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror fans from all over the world.
