I just saw a great film at the Egyptian: "Twentieth Century" made in 1934, with Carole Lombard and Lionel Barrymore, directed by Howard Hawks. Fantastic! I laughed out loud more times than I can remember. The other night, I re-watched "The Fortune Cookie" with Jack Lemon and Walter Matthau, directed by Billy Wilder, another of my all-time favorite directors. Very funny film--my father and I had a debate going over whether it's a comedy or a drama. I said it was a comedy, but in the end had to concede that it's just a very funny drama with a lot of great and goofy characters.
Don't watch TV! Ha!
