Who wants to dance?

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator All I know is that I don't know. Every time I think I know, I am proven wrong. This I know. Which means I don't know squat.

You can see my photography and cinematography at www.thomashargis.net .

My Interests

Swing dancing! I'm kind of obsessed by it. Check out the video of me and my partner, Courtney, performing at the Lindy Groove Christmas dance. Yes, I'm wearing antlers.

I love the Hollywood Bowl, the summer cemetery screening series at Hollywood Forever, hanging out at Elixir when I need to feel calm, classy joints, and dive bars like The Kibitz Room at Canter's. Real Food Daily and Native Foods are currently two of my favorite restaurants because I can order anything on the menu, and the food is so tasty.

I've never been to Cabo or Hawaii, but would like to go because having a real vacation for once would be nice. I like going to movies, museums or art shows, or simply going out to dinner is nice too. I love live music (all kinds), and I especially like jazz. A night on the couch in my P.J.'s watching a DVD is fun too.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who can shed some light.

"Evidence" - A film I recently shot.

Music:

Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, all kinds of Jazz, Swing, and lounge music, They Might Be Giants, Wilco, Pixies, Buddy Holly... I'm going to stop now because the list goes on and on, and who wants to read a laundry list?

Movies:

See AFI's top 100 movies. I'm pretty much in agreement. I just saw Network recently and fell in love with it again.

Television:

PBS, History Channel, Discovery Channel...anything that's semi-educational.

Books:

Catch-22 is my favorite.

Heroes:

The common man.

My Blog

The state of things

So I realized that I haven't been blogging much lately. I have a tendency of writing when something bothers me rather than when things are going well, and currently things are going well. Here's an up...

A nice car with a bow on top

Every year the same thing happens. Christmas rolls around and I see the same thing on TV. Some dude buying his wife a nice car with a bow on top. Of course, she finds out by some surprise that her hus...

Meet my new obsession

I suppose obsession may be too strong of a word. After all, I only went to my first Tango class last night. Let's just say in relationship terms, if asked if I like her or do I like her like her, I wo...

Its all a conspiracy!

I had a very annoying conversation this past Saturday. I was in a building and you could hear a protest outside. People chanting, picket signs, the whole bit. Someone asked what it was all about. I mu...

Has anyone seen my muse?

I'm in need of a little inspiration. Creatively, I've been dry. Ideas don't seem to come easily these days. I'm ready to take control over my career and create my own projects. The will is there, but ...

Mosquito

One of the things I like about LA is the lack of mosquitoes. Sure, we have some, but it's nothing like the Midwest where during the summer a constant array of multiple bites all over your bo...
