About Me

ARMY of JENNYS

Most of the world was introduced to Galt in 2006 on the smash hit TV show Rockstar: Supernova. Being chosen as one of the show’s 15 finalists (out of 25,000 worldwide) catapulted Galt to new heights of status and fame. “It was an amazing, life-changing experience. I learned so much about myself, about my fears and strengths. And seeing how some of the other rockers would handle the pressure was very interesting, and sometimes really inspiring.” Since the show, Jenny has toured through USA & Europe as a musician with Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction) and Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) of Satellite Party (where she played keyboards, rhythm guitar and sang backing vocals which included doing David Letterman and The Howard Stern show. She also now plays with Canada’s legendary Holly McNarland.

When you first meet Army of Jennys front woman and principal songwriter Jenny Galt, she somehow manages to simultaneously evoke the (fearless) girl next door, an international woman of mystery and that ultra cool chick who always cranks the good tunes at the party. And then there’s her music. Adept with gorgeous vocals, a sultry mix of pop melodies, moody synth sounds, sophisticated lyrical undertones, drum and vocal loops and impressive piano work – she is a multifaceted musician and talent whose sensuality and soulfulness truly captivates.

Army of Jennys was born out of a need to find her true calling in music. Years of playing rock music with a low-slung Les Paul electric and rocking all the cool moves on stage did finally culminate in being chosen for Rockstar: Supernova. But once it was all done, there was still something Jenny felt was missing from her life, musically. “I really missed that feeling of drawing everyone into my song, I missed the intimacy.” She was on the hunt for a new sound she could truly call her own, and a year and a half after the close of RS:SN she now has a project which fully encompasses her best skills – her beautiful vocals, her songwriting, and her amazing ability to create a moody atmosphere and silence everyone in the room when she sits at the piano.

At 25, Hailing from both Ottawa and Montreal, Canada this beauty may be young but she’s plenty experienced. She started singing and playing piano at the bitty age of 6 and guitar at 16. As a musician, Jenny has toured the world playing in front of audiences as big as 70, 000. Her previous band Cherrybomb toured Canada twice and released 6 albums independently. She now spends her time between Vancouver and Los Angeles, honing her one-woman live show which can often sound like an entire orchestra is playing, as well as recording material for her upcoming debut solo album. Army of Jennys is becoming increasingly popular while remaining ever artistic and musically unique and exciting. Her own music is finally emerging out of the depths of her “rocker chick” past into a sexy, sophisticated new sound combining deep, heartfelt piano ballads with drum & bass beats, an unendingly soulful voice, and eerily beautiful harmonies. Her emergence as a fearless solo artist is eagerly anticipated.
