Redgy Blackout is a character created by Scott Perrie and Jeremy Breaks to embody their music, channel their energy and connect with their audience. Redgy is inside all of us. He is the evolving musical consciousness of planet earth. A recent addition to Turner Music, Redgy Blackout is a progressive, up and coming, Rock quartet from Vancouver, Canada. With imaginative lyrics, undeniable talent and raw energy they give their audience a sense of change and hope through their music.
With the release of their debut album The Leap on April 10th 2009, they are on the verge of breaking free from the shackles of the 9 to 5 and taking the leap into the musical abyss. From their modest beginnings as an acoustic duo almost 3 years ago, Scott and Jeremy developed their sound and their songs by jamming at open mics and coffee shops. With Scott’s melodic knack and Jeremy’s guitar mastery, they were different; they were edgy. And so Redgy Blackout was born.
After recording an acoustic EP at their home studio and growing a small local following it was time to take the next step to their current form as a collective of four unique musicians and personalities. Hailing from Prince George, Jeremy and his friend and drummer, Patrick Poirier played together in a funk band named Floored. They opened for artists like Wide Mouth Mason, Gob, Holly McNarland, and Bif Naked. Scott and his friend and bass Player, Colin Medhurst, grew up in the Lower Mainland and both pursued music in different ways. Scott: as a solo artist and through musical theatre and Colin: in a spectrum of local bands and styles. Collectively, they are the arms & legs of a complete and lively Redgy. In 2008 they played to a sold out crowd at Vancouver’s New Music West Festival and that summer they opened for Hedley at the CN Center in Prince George to thousands of people.
They are quickly gaining local recognition as a refreshing new band and are excited to go on tour to reach a larger audience. Experience Redgy Blackout and awaken from the inner restlessness inside. Let the Redgy revolution begin!
