The Megan Jerome Trio includes Megan Jerome (voice, piano, wurlitzer), Petr Cancura (sax, mandolin, accordion, clarinet, voice) and Mike Essoudry (drums, percussion, voice). Megan provides the group with a unique blend of jazz and folk influences - she grew up with family and friends gathered around the piano, playing and singing songs from the 20s through folk tunes, old and new. Petr is a true Bohemian. His musical style fuses folk songs from his native Czech with jazz. Petr lives in New York city and has recently earned a Masters of Music in Jazz Saxophone from the New England Conservatory in Boston. Mike is rooted in popular music - rock and jazz, and brings his own blend of groove/riff based playing to the trio. Mike has a Masters in Jazz Drumset from McGill University in Montreal.
