About Me

East Village Opera Company's encore in Lima, Peru.
More EVOC in Peru.
Bassist from Ottawa, Canada. In addition to jazz, rock and folk, I started playing the electric bass with reggae and calypso bands at 16. At 19, I was backing up reggae greats like Brigadier Jerry and doing opening spots for Third World and had been exposed to a whole pile of stuff, food, culture, questionable practices, over-indulgences, ack, cough, cough, cue the tumbleweed.
In 2004, I was the recipient of a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, that allowed me to travel to Dakar, Senegal as the first western student of bassist Habib Faye, bandleader for Youssou N'Dour's Super Etoile De Dakar. That same year, I scored an invite to perform at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens, Greece.
2006 saw me with the East Village Opera Company at the Miss USA Pageant in Baltimore, MD, as well as the world-premiere of the Da Vinci Code film in Hong Kong. I was again invited (sigh) to perform at the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, where I consumed some brilliant bufala, risotto and imbibed some pretty damn nice super-reds.
Presently, I continue to play with the East Village Opera Company (when Richard Hammond isn't busy with Erasure), as well as the Marc Nelson Trio, Kobotown, Chairman George, Alex Houghton, The Miss Bennets, The Mighty Popo, The Yaa Trio, Crystin Schultz, blah, blah, blah , blah, blah.
Since 2001, I've been a proud endorsing artist for Elixir Strings and Eden Electronics Bass Amplifiers.
