My main instrument is saxophone, but I also play piano and since many friends seemed to like my piano performances and often asked about my piano tunes,I thought using myspace music to put some of my works as pianist would have been a nice idea. I am a selftaught pianist from Cagliari, capital of Sardinia the second largest island of Italy,i've been playing piano from many years always for fun i might say, never in a professional way, but even if i am not classical or jazz or formally trained of any kind as pianist, I listened probably more to pianists than to sax players or other instruments in my life. I am basically an improviser on piano,though i compose on this instrument, but my performances on the instrument are mostly totally based on free improvisation,not meaning automatically chaos or noice, just totally freedom to play what i feel and to try to put those emotions through this fascinating instrument. So basically I am a solo improviser,meaning i play my best when i play alone rather than with other musicians,due to the fact first I improvise and second that I still haven't found yet other musicians capable to enter my mind or my feelings in order to keep a working conversation, musically speaking. Of course that is a limitation,but from my point of view I am not a pianist in the orthodox meaning of the word, I play piano in my own way,which might be considered by some not too good or technically insuffient or with other limitations,but it is nevertheless my peculiar way to express myself on this instrument, and my trademark too I hope. I could go on trying to describe my way to play this instrument,but I think I'll do that using our blog space one of these days. For now I just Hope some of You out there might like my piano improvisations. Thanx. Marcello
