vocals, all instruments and all of the the songs heard here were written, recorded, engineered, produced by Mim aka MaryAnne.
Yeah, the credits here read kinda like a Mel Brooks' film.
Influences: Life experiences, books and papers I read, movies and art I see, people I meet, and the musical sounds of the world around me. My Granny Eileen, my family and friends.
The following is a shortened list of influences of folks that every time I heard their music I was inspired in some way to write, sing, or play: Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald, Lauryn Hill, R.E.M., Harry Connick, Jr., Beck, U2, Juanes, John Mayer, Radiohead, Alana Davis, ColdPlay, Geddy Lee, Thelonious Monk, John Williams, Dvorak, Smetana, Judy Garland, Michael Jackson, Gladys Knight, Frank Sinatra, Quincy Jones and The Beatles (of course).
And there are many friends’ music whom I’ve gravitated towards over the years and never get tired listening to: Javier, The Bomb Squad, Paul Wenzel, Ed Ryan, misc. Al Domingo, or HiZed projects.
I've done a lot of late-night soul-searching, meandering through Manhattan and failing miserably at finding the meaning of it all.
Lastly, is it wrong to say a house influenced me? I say that only because 48 Orange Street, is the only house in my life that has been a constant. The house has history in it- good and bad... but always hope filled. -Always hopeful.
Sounds Like: chocolate filled vanilla cream cakes
