Brad Standley was raised on a tiny farm in Northern California quite a distance away from the big city environment. This is where this laid-back, half-lidded, slow burning attitude was born. Discovering early his passion for music he started playing anything he could get his hands on from the age of 9 on. Whether it be clarinet, saxophone, French horn, or the drums he was all over it. However his voice was always his favorite instrument, and he continued to spend countless hours discovering the plethora of ridiculous noises that would all combine to be what he now calls circus funk. Oddly enough, it wasn’t until after going to Cal State University at Fullerton for theatre that he joined the European tour of HAIR, picked up the guitar, and really started developing his writing abilities, both musically and lyrically. Having seen most of Europe and North America he decided to settle in Williamsburg Brooklyn to bring his distinctive funk/folk/soul/rock to the people of New York. Brad is the musical epitome of the dichotomy between small town boy and big city sophistication and, having spent most of his life on stage as an actor, is nothing if not a performer. He is truly passionate about music, innovative creation, and bizarre collaboration, and wants nothing more than to share that passion with the world.
