Juan-Carlos Hernández - Jazz photographer

Photographer by heart

About Me

Aaaah, Juan-Carlos Hernandez ! Cleverly neglected beard, angelic smile, smooth talk… Those who are regulars at the Sud des Alpes know well his latin charming silhouette. Juan-Carlos has become the blue note’s « eye » by passion and the Geneva photographer has met and immortalised all the great-well not all of them, but the list is getting longer day by day-of contemporary jazz. Ornette Coleman opened his New-York appartment door for a portrait session which Juan-Carlos remembers with emotion. Sonny Rollins, Steve Coleman, Dave Douglas and many others live as well a second life thanks to the photographer’s lens. When Juan-Carlos perfectly masters the science of framing and light, he has a hell of a good ear nonetheless !From Luca Sabbatini (Tribune de Genève, 2th of November 2007) If you like my work and would like to collaborate with me, drop me an email ([email protected]) for availability and rates ! Same adress if you are interested in purchase any photographs. Thanks ! www.jazzeyed.20mn.com "Un Oeil sur le Jazz" is my personal website, have a look and don't forget the guestbook if you like it. Thanks in advance ;-) ____________________________________________ Some musicians who have honoured me signing my guestbook :Sheila Jordan : "A great photographer and human being. Congratulations. Keep shooting"Jean-François Prins : "Superbe tes photos! J'espère être un jour dans ta ligne de mire."Jeannette Lindström : "I like your photos, beautiful...."Kenwood Dennard : "Juan Carlos Hernandez ROCKS! What a talented photographer and genuine pure hearted artist. Let the art shine forth all ye artists! Your photos are soulful poetry."Ryan Keberle : "These are all incredible photographs! You have an amazing ability to capture the energy and fire alive on stage."Peter Van Huffel : "The photos are beautiful! Great work! "Roseanna Vitro : "You have taken some wonderful action photo's of great jazz musicians. So nice to see some of my friends in your collection."Richard Horowitz : "Ton Traville pour moi represent le combination parfait de realism et MOOD.
