Band formed around 1995 by sax player Marcello Carro and trumpet player Mario Massa.
They performed many concerts between 1996 and 1998 around Sardinia, having a good appreciation both by the critics and by the audience.
The duo intended to mix the lyrical sound and deep passion for melodies by Mario Massa with Marcello Carro's interest in developping harmonies and the use of electronics and samplers.
It's extremely difficult to define under what musical genre Ragatronic might fill in,it's not jazz in a pure meaning of the word,but still there are many elements taken from jazz,it's not just drum & bass or jungle because it has a too complex harmonic and melodic structure to be just that kind of music,it's not even pop music in a wide meaning of the word because it's not really popular for everyone and not too commercial, it's not dance music because its melodies are not just simple riffs played over and over to hipnotize the audience, it's just what many friends used to tell us Ragatronic music.
The band unfortunatelly does not exist anymore,though the demo cd we recorded back in 1996 is still on my hands and i thought that project, even with lots of things that needed to be done in a better way,was a genuine effort to make music beyond the usual common places that record companies impose to artists,maybe it was one of the reasons we never found a brave producer to trust in us in those years.
Now thanx to MySpace i am doing some justice to Ragatronic hoping there will be some open minded listeners able to understand and appreciate our efforts of those years.
