I have a new book coming out called "Healing Meditations for a Successful Life."Besides being a writer I'm also a singer-songwriter, painter, human and animal rights advocate. I practice Wicca and as the Goddess says "All acts of love and pleasure are my own!" In Wicca we live by the three fold law that is "Do as you will but harm no one!" This means that all that we put forth comes back times three. My favorite new character is GG Smart Baby Detective. She is so adorable!! Check out her link: http://www.myspace.com/ggsmartbooks

http://www.defenders.org/waw/"I also ask everyone to please support the efforts of those afflicted with 9/11 syndrome as a result of the effects of 9/11's toxic soup of fumes, poisons, mercury and dioxins. Please support the rescue workers and nearby residents whose health has been affected when the world trade towers were destroyed. Many of these rescue workers have died or are now gravely ill. They served us, let us never forget them! Keep asking questions to government officials and fight for the medical care and benefits for our 9/11 firemen, policemen and all other 9/11 rescue workers! Feds and NYC Make It Hard for 9/11 VictimsFederal and NYC Governments Make It as Hard As Possible for 9/11 Victims http://www.tortdeform.comEvery time I write about how the response to the 9/11 illnesses caused by exposure to Ground Zero are being handled in a way which follows a profits over safety model and the tort "reform" movement, it is harder to believe that it is actually happening. But it is happening. It is very much happening. In short, the federal, state, and city governments (although primarily the federal) collectively minimized the risk of exposure to contaminants at Ground Zero, and encouraged people to return and work there before it was safe for human occupancy. My previous posts highlight how the challenges faced by sick 9/11 workers (as well as nearby residents) in getting access to justice and compensation for the negligence of the government officials who minimized the risks of exposure are symptoms of the problems of the larger system. The difficulties with high burdens of proof, drawn out appeals processes, and overly restrictive statutes of limitation can affect us all if we get hurt. (read the Center for Justice and Democracy report on workers' comp. for details http://www.centerjd.org/ )Similarly, they explain that the model and approach adopted by government officials was a financial security over human security model. Please copy and pass this information on.For information about health a program helping the victims of 9/11 related illnesses go to http://www.wtcexams.orgCURRENT MOON moon phases

Music:

The Opinions Expressed Here are Strictly My Own. Take What You Like and Leave The Rest!I Love Everything from Punk to Classical I mean this Literally! Every time I met someone who loved a certain genre of music I looked into why. In many cases I'd get converted and learn something new.I believe that everyone's life comes with a soundtrack made of memories and experiences. The songs that we heard lay down this soundtrack. The soundtrack don't stop playing until you're physically dead. I'm not so convinced that it ends after wards, I mean being a medium and all!I mean this as I love old school: I feel that many people are genre purist and I'm not. As a singer I have sang many styles of music. I have met opera singers, classical people and sang straight rock, punk, electronica, r&b, jazz and so on. I had a passion and explored it. Some purists that I met along the way get all huffy about their genre being the best. I personally believe that learning and at least understanding the efforts, life blood and dues that people put into their music gives me respect for all other artists. Having had a very musical family and older brother and sister and cousins all older, I was exposed to lots of music very young. My dad played guitar and harmonica and sang country, old Hank tunes and everything from Mexicana and other things.Mother was an opera singer as a young woman, so I was thankfully affected and infected with musical love. The Beatles: They are the ultimate, the originals Gods, they are timeless! I can never grow tired of listening to them, they just had IT! The classic Stones too! Little Richard wow a touch of God and Goddess all rolled into one, he was screaming back on those Midnight Specials! Eric Clapton a guitar God living as Jimmy Hendrix is The Dead Legend! Iggy Pop, David Bowie of course. Once saw them together at Beacon Theater when I was a teenie girl.Queen-Freddy Mercury! Need I say more?Neil Young, My Hero! Deep Purple! Credence Clearwater Revival and JC Fogerty a Rock God and a Legend!Grace Slick and Jefferson Airplane: Grace is one of my Fave Rock Goddess-Icons! Truly an original and no one will ever sing "Somebody to Love" "White Rabbit" "Pretty As You Feel" the way she made those and so many other songs come to life. And those steely blues eyes that could pierce through any bullshit!Zeppelin Robert Plant was the first ultimate rock and roll God and what a voice! In so many ways he was the template for all great metal singers. Jimmy Page made the guitar come alive and fly!Punk: Ramones, Dead Kennedy's etc., New Wave: The Clash- punk to ska-post punk new wave,Devo, Lene Lovich, Talking Heads, Fun Boy Three, Eurhythmics (Annie Lennox is one of my favorite vocalist and writers. Dave Stewart and amazing guitarist, musician and producer. The Smiths and Everything by Morrissey: Morrissey is my fave classic EMO- male vocalist from that era! The Alarm, The Circle Jerks, The Buzzcocks, New Order, Rancid, Stray Cats and Brian Setzer is still cool even his swing stuff! Sisters of Mercy, The Church, Echoe and the Bunnymen, The Plastics, The Violent Femmes, XTC, The runaways, Joan Jet, Lita, The Cure (Robert Smith a God), Ah yes, The Boomtown Rats. Generation X and Billy Idol-so Hot!Green Day Is one of my favorites, they're Gods and rule! From Dookie to American Idiot they are brilliant!Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders I worship! Chrissie played with everybody and was born of and created the Punk scene and now is a polished rocker chick as she and The Pretenders never lost their edge. And she did have Ray Davies' kid. The Kinks are Gods and developed the power chord. I Love the Kinks. I love the Zombies! So much more than a drippy 60's boy band import. Some of their tunes are technically amazing.Van Morrison is an absolute classic, brilliant writing and music. I also love Donovan a pretty cool writer for his day. I respect Bruce Springsteen as being a charismatic healer to his fans and writing for the working class man. B.B. King is the Blues Man!A lot of Pop Madonna:(Goddess), the ultimate marketer. So many music people diss her and talk all about her whoring herself to get to the top. Truth be told she was smart, many people hated her in the big leagues because she did not have to whore herself to their control. I identified with Madonna because she like I came out of a dowdy working class town and struck out like many young women in my generation. She also expressed her sexuality and refused to be a puppet of male domination. She made her way as an equal. I think that lots of people owe their careers to the woman who opened up not only a window but drove down and through a garage door leaving it wide open!I wanna talk about Pink. Pink is an amazing singer and has that blend of Janis, Wendy O and some tough ass chick that is the archetype for the tough girl with the heart of gold who protected the asses of everyone in her school who was cool. But she also helped signify for and represent the dorks, nerdettes and those less fortunate cause she's a warrior princess not a bully! Pink also kicks ass in concert! I wish that people would get over all that homogenized white bread, unimaginative Idol shit(no offense I think Idol-is a popularity contest for the unimaginative artists and the philistines who love them) and pay Pink some attention by buying her records and respecting her bluesy-rock voice and rock nouveau-feminist.I look at Gwen Steffani as an upgrade of Madonna with a great voice and a softer way because she didn't have to fight to make her way she just had to be a beautiful rocker chick creating her own style. Technically Gwen's a better singer than Madge, I think. Madge has a great playlist go to: http://www.../music/?plid=fb8929dceaAgain the opinions expressed here are my own take what you like and leave the friggin rest! LOL!Cyndi Lauper phenomenal singer and she has such soul! Cyndi's the real deal she has depth and versatility. Listen to At Last a minimally produced CD of standards.Basia Trzetrzelewska has one of the greatest voices ever! I really miss her and wish that she'd return to make more music. I understand that she was traumatized by her mother's passing and other losses. I hope that she finds her way to healing and graces us with more music. Her version of Aretha's "Until You Come Back to Me that's what I'm Gonna Do" is a phenomena! She has a three octave voice and it's a gift! Come back Basia!Cheryl Crow I respect she's an awesome musician and F@&k all the people that claim she broke up Lance Armstrong's marriage. No one breaks anyone up who wasn't breakable. Sheryl knows her stuff, her mother was a classical piano teacher whose hard ass tactics made her children learn music inside out. Soak Up The Sun is the world's most awesome upbeat song. Do I like Country, yes, old school Patsy, Willie, Hank. Don't get me started about Johnny Cash and his late wife June-Legends!Loretta Lynn-Legendary Van Lere Rose Country Goddess!Props to Brenda Lee and the late, great Owen Bradley who produced many country Goddesses! I also Love Tanya Tucker who is a real survivor and soulful singer.New school? Okay don't listen to him much but Tim McGraw is a sexy dude and his wife a babe too!Keith Urban the little hottie. Dixie Chicks they have courage to tell it like it is! You can be a cowboy or a cowgirl and still have soul and be spiritually aware. There's a beauty to really good country. I hate the redneck simpleton shit kickers though. The ones who make money pandering to the ignorant and the haters! I hate all ignoramuses who hate! Of course I'm opinionated I believe in civil rights, religious inclusion and human rights. Sorry but there's more people in the world than just Christians and white people. I believe in live and let live until you tell me how to live and then watch out for the Scorpio! However let me say that I admire Christians who are Christian and do as Christ did by including and loving All people! Good people are good people no matter how and which God or Goddess they worship. There are many paths to heaven.Christina A has the world's most amazing voice: destined to be a legend. Christina A. Wow that girl has an other lifetime or many others written on her voice. I one time watched a special about her and saw clips of her singing "The Thrill is Gone" at about 8 years old. She didn't just sing it, she brought the house down! B.B. King kindly asked the young girl "Now what do you know about that?" To my knowledge that kind of wisdom on the voice is what I believe a past life carry over!Pop Legend: Linda Ronstadt (yeah she got heavy, so what?) Linda is the most versatile singer. She is not a writer and writing your own shit became a wise marketing and savvy concept in the 80's. Everybody in the music biz kept hearing write your own stuff and make more money. Well Madonna did. Linda has a girlish desperation about her voice. She was like the easy girl with a heart of gold who kept getting her heart broken, but kept trying at love again. She was so cute and growing up I identified with her well because well psychics are sensitive and open people until we learn about boundaries. Luckily for me being a New Yorker we learn how to kick ass or die really young so NY girls can be sensitive but tough too! Well Linda kicked ass on her big band tunes with Nelson Riddle. Nelson Riddle was an amazing band leader, arranger (he was Frank's main man) F@#k that Rod shit(in my humble opinion a marketing move, like what genius teamed him up with Kim Carnes, Brian Adams (who I love) and Sting who I respect?). I loved early Rod and Maggie May is a creamy tune. And yes Melissa is a Lesbo Goddess who resuscitated Maggie May and stands on her own. Rod sounds like a drunk, end of stage Billie Holliday. Linda sings those tunes like honey kissing butter. Listening to Linda sings standards reminds me of a prom date of passionate sex then ends up in getting dumped. Yes all her songs are sad. Check her Spanish tunes on Frenesi and Canciones de Mi Padre I & II, Es Estupenda! Frenesi took songs that were made popular and re-recorded in tacky English and lost all their proper interpretations. Frenesi gave a tender interpretation to Spanish songs that may sound upbeat, but the lyrics are dramatic and devastating. In the 40's and 50's many Latin songs were screwed around with and cultures were all lumped together and made into a diminutive stereotype. That's why movies stuck Carmen Miranda (a talented Latin woman) in Sambista (Brazil) garb and had her sing Rumba(from Cuba). Carmen is so cool read her auto-bio. Studios made a talented woman a cartoon and a joke. She was pigeon holed as a joke, that's what killed her! Rumba was hot I guess in the 40's and Latin women did not seem as threatening if they were all depicted as freak'n Chiquita Banana broads! ( Sure there were other Latina hotties like Dolores Del Rio and Rita Hayworth who they anglicized again for marketing, she was beautiful and hot not matter what, Bless her soul!) In my humble opinion Latin America, Spain, Portugal and Columbia produce some of the most amazing rock and roll and creative music and brilliant musical styles. They are not as harnessed by creative control as many American artists. From the 80's on we rockers were all pushed into this marketing shit and forced to be in one box or another. I had a friend ages ago Neon Leon who was an American ex-patriot living in Sweden where he had a decent career, found respect and made a nice living. When he came to America he was told by record people that he had to conform to one exact image and market. They tried to push him into Rap and tone him down. Neon wound up going back to Sweden where he belonged.Latino Music I Love too! Check out MENA, The Mars Volta, El Tres, Shakira is so interesting her MTV Live rules! Carlos Santana a Rock guitar God! Pop-Jazz, Classico Latino Musica: La Lupe, Vikki Carr, Celia Cruz, Willie Colon and Tito Peunte.Newer: Thalia, Patricia Montenero there is nothing as hot as Ojos Negros (muy claientissima)! I loved Selena-RIP Chica Bonita! Love Darkbeat, Loved Santa Esmerelda a classico! Anna Belin- A Classic Spanish Singer! There's some amazing Latin Rock n Roll out there. There is a creative freshness because much of the Latin rock comes from diverse countries and incorporates a fabulous cross pollenation of styles and influences. Check out: Los Estramboticos, Genitallica, Carajo, Alejandra Guzman, Libido, Volvovar, Los Tetas, Los Amigos Invisibles, Plastillina Mosh,Liquits, DJKU, CIRCO from San Juan PR, Skapulario and Zurdok. Just to name some artists- I bleive that as the USA becaomes more Hispanic as we evolve as a nation Spanish Rock n' Roll will become increasingly popular. I hope that it remains as diverse and creatively interesting, Viva Espaniol Rock!Prince (a rare gift)! Stevie Wonder(a genius)Classical: Cello music Bach cello suites, Harpsichord music, Sir Thomas Delius, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Puccini and Gershwin. etc. etc.Jazz Greats: Nat Cole, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Dinah Washington, Nina Simone, Billie Holliday, Bobby Darrin. There was also the Incomparable, legendary Ella Fitzgerald, now that's a voice also: Peggy Lee one of the first women singers to start writing and recording her own songs. Check the Billboard charts from the 40's, she had many songs.Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, Charlie Parker (Bird), Fats Waller, Kurt Weill all amazing writers.Big Band singers: Doris Day believe it or not check out her vocals, great singer!Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. (Classics!Etta James: a Goddess the world's best blues singer!Esther Phillips: One incredible jazz and R&B singer, even Aretha gave away one of her Grammys to Esther who she felt deserved the awards, as Esther's music peers were either uninformed or simply unaware how great she was.Fave Dead Artists: Janis Joplin,Elvis,Buddy Holly,Ritchie Valenz, Jimmy Hendrix (A Guitar God) Jim Morrison, Patsy Kline, Wendy O'Williams, Roy Orbison, Ricky Nelson, John Lennon, George Harrison. So much of this music has made it happen for me, just a lyric and just a sound was all that I needed to face anything!I love Rockabilly: Check out Rockpile, Nick Cave, Wanda Jackson: The original Fujiyama Mamma!Cool Chick Groups: The Donnas, Letters to Cleo.Definitely Johnette Napolitano who I think epitomizes the ultimate rocker chick. She's brilliant and has a power about her music, politics and performance.I live for Johnette Napolitano and Concrete Blonde, my fave LA Band! Johnette is highly underrated but to me the consummate woman rocker I love her! She's tempestuous and wildly talented. I love her collaboration ("Damage" a cool song about making amends as best as possible) with The Talking Heads another legendary group!Love Dionne Farris!Rock also: Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan is a God. Veruca Salt, Oasis, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Garbage-Shirley Manson sings my sentiments. Those Scottish women singers have a handle .. to the veins lyrics just like Annie Lennox. Pearl Jam: The soundtrack of my 90's life! Eddy Vedder a force to be reckoned with, a classic! U2 F what they all say about Bono going rock star and selling out. Bono uses his celebrity well, he gives a damn and educates like Bob Geldorf. Chillie Peppers rule too!I loved and still love Republica from the U.K. early 90's and their singer Saffron. The world needs more Republica and Saffron! They blended rock with rave and made really edgy rock that was rhythmically danceable.Isa & the Filthy Tongues - Scotland - South Indie / Visual "Really interesting sound and great energy and attitude!"
