Rick has been a professional astrologer since 1976 in Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Seattle. He writes the daily horoscope columns for Tarot.com and MySpace . He is the author of 'Quantum Astrology: Essays on the Physics of Metaphysics', 'The Gift of the Maji: Christmas for the New Millenium', 'The Professional Practice of Astrology'and co-author of 'Your Astrology Guide 2007' with fellow astrologer Jeff Jawer. Rick has also written articles for several publications, including Fate magazine, The Mountain Astrologer and Aspect Journal, and his articles have been translated into Norwegian and Polish, among others. Rick has made many television and radio appearances over the years, and currently co-hosts 'The Star Talkers,' a weekly radio show with Internet simulcast, also with Jeff Jawer. Rick loves music, poetry, mathematics and a good novel.
Every day I analyze the position of the Sun, Moon, and all the planets, noting what signs they are in and any geometric patterns they create with one another. This helps me understand the energetic weather, the invisible forces at work during the day. The GENERAL OVERVIEW is a summary of how I interpret the planets that day. Next, I imagine what it would be like to encounter this specific cosmic weather from each of 12 points of view. For example, if the day is going to be mentally edgy, the fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) and the air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius) might be up for anything. But the rational edge could be more challenging for the practical earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) and downright depressing for the emotional water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces). Of course, it's more complex than this, but when I put myself inside each sign, I get a sense of how you might react to the day. Of course, we are each more than just our Sun signs, so if you know your rising sign or Moon sign, I suggest reading those, too.
