Elenore Roosevelt, Robert Redford, Dali Lama, the Galactic Federation, or anyone with a universal outlook and the courage to walk their own path. I especially honor women who buck the system, claim their own empowerment, and move into who they are without being negative or confrontational about it.
Classical, but not chamber music; and meditative/healing CDs like David Hykes, Robert Coxen, or Peter Kater. Also love Pink Floyd, Tina Turner, and music I can fast dance to.
Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Room With a View, La Cage Aux Folles, A Fish Called Wanda, In and Out, Waking Ned Devine, Monty Pythons' Life of Brian, Babette's Feast, Flawless, and most independent films-well done films with substance and not hyped up Hollywoodized fluff.
Grays Anatomy, Masterpiece Theater, Lost,Boston Legal,Ugly Betty, Six Feet Under, (which my daughter taped for me since I don't have cable) and many that were great shows, but were canceled due to intelligent writing and the lack of adolescent angst.
