I was born in Chambersburg, PA I have been a huge football fan as long as I can remember. Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State and U.S.N.A. football. Proudly served in the US Navy for eight+ years. A shout out to all my old shipmates on board the best luxury liner the Navy had to offer. The USS Halsey CG-23(Guided Missile Cruiser). Which is no longer with us. They destroyed her a few years back in Brownsville, TX and have since ... made a new destroyer (DDG-97) to carry on the proud name of Admiral William "Bull" Halsey. {Hit hard, Hit fast, Hit Often} Fair winds and following seas.......I've been playing the drums/percussion since I was eight years old. Playing for over 36 years! My passion for playing has not diminished. Jazz, Rock, Contemporary, Drum & Bugle Corp, Big Band & Swing. Over the last 14 years, percussion has become my intense expression in music. Over the last 22 years I have had the privilege of working with some great christian musicians and songwriters: BeBe Winans, Phillips Craig&Dean, Andrus Blackwood, Lamar Boschman, Ron Kenoly, Bob Fitts, Steve Fry, Tim & Steve Archer, Israel Houghton, Mike Babbit, Morris Chapman, Bob Sorge, Tyrone Williams, Tom Braxton, Mike Kinard, Terry Clark, Jerry Cleveland, Gene Glover, Alvin Parris, P.I.D., Joseph Garlington, Steve and Priscilla Smith, Karry Godwin, Jimmy and Becky Pierce, Vicky Yohe, Jesse Dixon, Alvin Slaughter, Nancy Harmon, Tim and Sally Ayers and the Prophet Kim Clement ....I believe percussion is more than an instrument. More than someone to cover the beat while the drummer does his time in the limelight. Percussion is an expression, a way to show your passion and feeling in your music. Percussion done with passion and discernment at the right time completes a song from being good to great. Playing in worship you learn to be sensitive and flow with the worship leader. Just the right chord, note or beat done at the right time can help someone get their break thru. That triangle or cowbell in the right spot, a little splash cymbal to the chimes completes the tune....It is like painting a picture. The band has a beautiful picture going on. Trees and a river, house in the background. When the percussion comes in then that triangle adds a bird, the clave add butterflies and so on. Percussionists become artists!!!...................
