About Me

This site was created by my top friend "Mark".
The same as "ALIAS Atheist Mark"(w/videos)
If you want to view his site, the first one opens faster.
The purpose of this site is not to tell people about Mr. Twains life, or most of his famous writings. There are many books and web sites that do that.
The purpose of this site is to show that Mr. Twain was very honest and open about his disbelief in any Gods or Heaven and Hell, and all the other ridiculous stories in the Bible, new and old testaments and the Qur’an.
Samuel Clemens was an Atheist.
He was far too intelligent not to be.

Samuel L.Clemens "Mark Twain", American author and humorist (1835-1910).
Mark Twain was born in Florida, Missouri on November 30, 1835. When he was four, his family moved to Hannibal, a port town on the Mississippi River which later served as the inspiration for the fictional town of St. Petersberg in The Adventures of "Huckleberry Finn". When he was 11, his father fell ill with pneumonia and died that March.
As a teenager Twain worked as an apprentice printer; when he was sixteen, he began writing humorous articles and newspaper sketches. When he was eighteen he left Hannibal, working as a printer in New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Cincinnati.
At the age of 22, Twain returned to Missouri and worked as a riverboat pilot and earned $250. Sam took the name "Mark Twain" which means "Safe Water" to a riverboat pilot.
He later graduated from Missouri College. In 1864 Twain left for California to try his hand at prospecting for gold but wasn't successful. He took a job as a reporter for a newspaper in San Francisco. While working at the paper he was talked into interring a frog in a jumping contest by his mining partner. That event lead to Sam writing the story "The Jumping Frog Of Calaveras County". This was the first time he used the name "Mark Twain”.
A publisher read the story and the rest is history.
He later graduated from Missouri College. In 1864 Twain left for California, and worked in San Francisco as a reporter. He visited Hawaii as a correspondent for The Sacramento Union, publishing letters on his trip and giving lectures. He set out on a world tour, traveling in France and Italy. His experiences were recorded in 1869 in The "Innocents Abroad", which gained him wide popularity, and poked fun at both American and European prejudices and manners. Later, in 1867 he wrote his first famous short story "Advice for Little Girls" Mark Twain had a wife, Olivia Langdon, who died in 1909. He also had three daughters, Susy, Clara, and Jean. His daughter, Clara Clemens, was married to a Russian-American pianist and conductor Ossip Gabrilowitsch. Clara was a singer who appeared with her husband in recital. 1901 until his death in 1910, Twain was vice president of the American Anti-Imperialist League. The League opposed the annexation of the Philippines by the United States. Twain wrote "Incident in the Philippines", posthumously published in 1924, in response to the Moro Crater Massacre, in which six hundred Moros were killed. In December 1909, Clemens' youngest daughter, Jean, died at Stormfield. Immediately after this tragedy, Twain wrote "The Death Of Jean", the last substantial writing he completed. The piece recalled the sudden tragedy of the death, and his feelings regarding the loss of his other family members. Following its completion, Clemens vowed never to write again. Clemens' health rapidly deteriorated after Jean's death. In January 1910, he went to Bermuda for his health, but sensed that he wasn't to live long. On April 21, 1910, Clemens sank into a coma at Stormfield. At sunset, his heart failed and he died in his bed. He was 74 years old. On April 23, a large funeral procession was held in New York City, and Clemens was buried alongside his wife and children at Woodlawn Cemetary, in Elmira, N.Y. He contributed the creation and popularization of the distinctive American literature built on American themes and language. Twain's greatest contribution to American literature is generally considered to be his novel "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". As Ernest Hemingway once said: "All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn. ...all American writing comes from that. There was nothing before. There has been nothing as good since."
My Favorite quotes from Mark Twain.
"It ain't the parts of the Bible that I can't understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand."......"Religion consists in a set of things which the average man thinks he believes and wishes he was certain of."......"In God We Trust,I don't believe it would sound any better if it were true."......"If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosper,he will not bite you, this is the principle difference between man and a dog."......"Man is a marvelous curiosity,he thinks he is the Creator's pet, he even believes the Creator loves him, has a passion for him, sits up nights to admire him, yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks He listens. Isn't it a quaint idea."......"The Bible is a mass of fables and traditions, mere mythology."......"Our Bible reveals to us the character of our god with minute and remorseless exactness. It is perhaps the most damnatory biography that exists in print anywhere. It makes Nero an angel of light and leading by contrast"......"There is no other life, life itself is only a vision and a dream for nothing exists but space and you"......."If there was an all-powerful God, he would have made all good, and no bad."......"Faith is believing in something you know ain’t true"......."I never told the truth in my life, that someone didn’t say I was lying. And I never told a Lie, that somebody didn’t take as a Fact"......"You can’t go beyond possibility"......"First God Made Idiots"......"It’s not that the world is full of fools, it’s just that lighting isn’t distributed right"......"Truth is the most valuable thing we have, let us economize it"......"The best cure for Christianity is reading the Bible."......"I am quite sure now that often, very often,in matters concerning religion and politics a man's reasoning powers are not above the monkey's"......"Always do right, this will gratify some, and astonish the rest."......"Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day,Give him a religion, and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish"....
"O Lord our God, help us tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with their little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it..." ["The War Prayer"]
"If there is a God, he is a malign thug."
Mr. Clemens was once asked whether he feared death. He said that he did not, in view of the fact that he had been dead for billions and billions of years before he was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.
"The Bible has noble poetry in it, and some good morals and a wealth of obscenity, and upwards of a thousand lies"
"In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing." My Interests

Hello and Good Day to all the Intelligent Rational Thinking Atheist who visit this site. My Thanks for all your efforts to help in the WAR against Religious Insanity. It takes Intelligence and Honesty to do what you. I have been an outspoken Atheist for 34 years. After a Italian/Irish Catholic upbringing complete with Nuns as teachers, then two years as a "Born Again Christian" I have heard every ridiculous and silly excuse for continuing to believe in religions. This Fact is certain, Man will NEVER know with Absolute Certainty where everything came from. We were not there when it everything came into existence. At best, all we will ever have is intelligent theories and speculations, based on research and rational, logical testing of these theories. I will certainly put more Faith in these theories, and believe them, before I would ever believe any religious/creator based fantasies conceived by Man, to serve mans agenda. If a "Creator" created everything, who or what created the creator? The Truth is simple to see and understand, Man Created GOD. (thousands) The cosmos is far too vast for us to ever examine all of it. Nothing or Nobody will ever come along and say,, "I made it all",, and then Prove it. Those type of claims will only come from the Imagination of man, made on behalf of what ever God they are promoting. The Fact is,, we will never, ever know with absolute, provable evidence. Just like we will never be able to prove there are no Gods. It is possible to KNOW there are NO Gods. That requires an Honest, Rational, Common Sense approach to thinking. Everyone and everything that has ever existed is a part of the "Natural Evolutionary Process". If not than you would never have existed at all. Even Gods and religions owe their existence to the evolution of the Human Mind/Imagination. God’s are a collection of ancient Fables and Myths passed on for thousands of years by tribal leaders. Controlling the attitudes of the people being the motivation of all Religions. There are Possibilities and Probabilities in this world.
Is it Possible there is a Creator? Yes.
Is it Probable? NO.
Is it Possible Man Created All GODS? Yes.
Is it Probable? ABSOLUTELY YES.
Is it Possible that all religious believers are Delusional? Yes
Is it Probable? YES
Is it Possible Evolution is a Fact? Yes
Is it Probable Evolution is a Fact? ABSOLUTELY YES
Is it Possible that every species of life has a different eye design because of "Intelligent Design"? Yes
Is it Probable that the eye is a perfect example of "Natural Evolutionary Process" at work? ABSOLUTELY YES
The issue of Religions is quite simple There is NO gray area. It is all Black or White. It is "All True" Or, "Not True At All". Scientist use Intelligent Theory and Physical Evidence to make their point. Religion uses Imagination and Scare Tactics to make theirs. Who are you going to believe? I think I know the answer to that question. It is 2007, not the Dark Ages The "Believers" have us "Outnumbered", But "Atheist" have them "Outsmarted" Someday (hopefully soon) The Truth, Intelligence, Real Knowledge and Rational Thinking will prevail over Imagination and the Delusions of Gods. Keep Thinking, and express your thoughts often. ALIAS
