About Me

As a young teen I became obsessed with glamour. My sisters Vogues & Cosmopolitans exposed me to photographer Francesco Scavullo & supermodels Janice Dickinson, Gia and Brooke Shields. It all inspired me to photograph & makeup some of the hot girls in my 7th grade class. In my late teens I was discovered by photographer Daniel Perry who asked me to be his makeup artist. I started doing makeup for him back in 1982. My interest in makeup and fashion drew me to London where I attended the London College of Makeup in 1986. London became my staple and identity. I loved its inspiration and my English mum had tailored me as an anglophile. In London I started working on films for the BBC and the London College of Art. I did makeup for fashion shows at Busby’s and hung out in the London underground clubs during the Leigh Bowery Taboo days. In the late 80’s I moved to New York working on independent films and even did a bit for Madonna’s documentary, Truth or Dare. Today I am still a freelance makeup arist and a member of Local 798 union. I’m freelancing for makeup companies & TV production houses. I’m surrounded with talent of all kinds, makeup artists, hair stylists, celebrities, photographers & stylists, artists that inspire me everyday. I consider myself a historian and trend setter. I channel the past and reinterpert it through my makeup craft.I also channel spritual energy and direct it creating growth and change. I have great respect for other artists and support their current & past reinvention of their work. WWW.NICKLONDONSTYLE.COM *** *** I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
