I started going to clubs in 1973 [ Golden Key] in Plaka area of Athens and the psychedelic hippy club Folk 17..i started in 1983 with the mobile club Cult, as a solution to escape from the boring music that they play at the ordinary clubs in Athens. The Venue was the rodeo club at Heyden Str. The event was every Monday. The music was Bowie, Kraftwerk, Bauhaus, Marc Bolan and experimental music. The decoration was industrial with live bats, videos, live groups and performances such as the 1st appearance of Last Drive. Also christos did the concert CRAZY LOVE AT ZOGRAFOU..... In 1988 the name changed from Cult to Jungle, the music now was house and electro. In 1989 the first ever Dj Jay Strongman from UK came to play for Jungle ( at Mad club Mykonos).--- 1800 EVENTS from 1983 /to 2007 ---- All these years well known Djs such as members of < DEPECHE MODE>Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Mark Moore,Roger Sanchez, Boy George, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren amongst others and famous clubs like "Pacha ibiza, Privilege Ibiza, Cafe Del Mar" participate at Jungle events. From 1991 till 1997, the Jungle club organized parties for famous magazines such as THE FACE, i-D, DJ Mag and Vogue. Other activities included parties with well known photographers and fashion designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano. In the year 2001 Christos Kalopitas and his Jungle Club made his first party in Ibiza at club Privilege, followed by parties in China (2004 tour), Poland (2004), Serbia, Marocco (2005). The biggest achievement was the idea to put a Dj at the Athens Olympics of 2004 (Tiesto), THE REAL STORY is that Christos proposed 34 countries under 34 flags at a party that was called "All in One" but the Olympic commitee didn't support this very first idea, (It was a unique proposal, that was not understood by these uneducated people. They only asked for Tiestos free appearence as they spend the budget of one billion Euros to unknown ethnic and latin groups that they cost only 100.000 euros.
