FAN SITE Anna Piaggi's work has appeared in fashion and news magazines since the 1960s. Her long-standing association with Italian Vogue dates back to the early 1970s. From 1981 to 1983 she was Editor-in-Chief of Vanity, the avant-garde style magazine. Since 1988 she has been Creative Consultant to the restyled Italian Vogue, for which she produces her famous D.P.Ms. Piaggi is author of two books listed in Books in Print. They are Anna Piaggi's Fashion Algebra and Lagerfeld's Sketchbook: Karl Lagerfeld's Illustrated Fashion Journal of Anna Piaggi.a brilliant fashion editor, an arbiter of taste and design, and one of the most original personalities of modern fashion world, she has developed a unique mode of dressing. Drawing on the past as well as the present, she consistently invents her own costumes: possibly a cloack from 1920s by Poiret combined with a warrior..s tunic from Benin, or a French pharmacist..s overall worn as a party dress. The result is always utterly original, often intensely dramatic, and occasionally flamboyantly theatrical.
